MSSDAR Centennial Pin
Chapter member Mrs. Walter W. Ott submitted the winning design in the statewide centennial pin design contest. The pin,
1-1/4 inches in diameter, features Mississippi's state
flower, the Magnolia, and is designed in red, white, and blue, State and
National DAR colors. The Greek revival architectural style, which is found
throughout the state, in both public and private buildings, is also incorporated
in the design. The gold laurel wreath encircling the pin suggests the honorable
commitment of Mississippi's Society to the patriotic goals and principles of
the Daughters of the American Revolution - God, Home, and Country. It also
represents the value and worth of each member's contribution over the past one
hundred years.
