Monroe Parks,
born in 1818 in Tenn. and lived in and around Lauderdale Co., MS
in the
1840's. Built and ran the Parksville Manf Co., between Chunky
and
Enterprise, MS Now a pond and the Wanita Fishing Club on Wanita
Factory
Pond. James Monroe was the son of John and Martha Parks. John
died in
Nov 1847 in Winston Co., MS. James Monroe PARKS married Jane
Hannah
Margarette YOUNG, in Louisville, on 27 March 1845. They had 5
children:
John Thomas Parks, married Cynthia Hatton Edwards; Warren Parks;
Mattie
A. Parks; Balzora Ann Parks-Gregory-Lindsey (my 2nd great
grandmother)
and Vira A. Parks. James fought in the Civil War, then in 1875
moved to
Texas with his family.
