Allen
family plot had 5 spaces and there are 3 people buried there. Grandfather
owned a storehouse downtown and a gas station on Schley Street. He
and Grandmother (Maude Lee Jrnkins Allen) lived on Schley Street also. House
was sold after she died. They also built a small house around a block
or so from their house where we lived with my mother while my father was overseas
during the Korean war. It was later sold to a man named Woodrow (don't
recall last name) who worked fro grandfather. Their oldest child was
elisabeth Rebedda (Boothe) Allen. Thomas, who had four children (Linda
Thomas Thowe, Lee Thomas Goodgion, Rebecca Thomas, and Charles Thomas). She
passed away in Shreveport, LA in 2004. Second child, Charlie Catherine "Sis"
Allen (Wheatley) was cremated and buried there by her children, Allen Wheatley
and Karen Long. Karen has since died and is buried in Gulfport, MS. Their youngest child was son Charles
W. Allen, Jr., who died in Shreveport in 2003, leaving one daughter, Kathry
Lynn Allen Rae. . Grandfather of Linda Thomas Thowe Grandmother of Linda Thomas Thowe Mother of Linda Thomas Thowe. Eldest child of Charles and Maude. Not buried here, she was cremated. Aunt of Linda Thomas Thowe. Charlie is given name. Middle child of Charles and Maude. In the family and to many of her friends, she was known as "Sis". In later years she was called Catherine. Cremated. Uncle of Linda Thomas Thowe. Youngest child of Charle3s and Maude. Not buried here, he was cremated. |
