Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 1 p.m. in Lee's Chapel #2 Missionary Baptist Church for Alvin "Buron" Lee, 78, of Leetown Community who passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010 in Slidell, La.
Burial will be in Lee's Chapel #2 Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
The Rev. Rico Lee, the Rev. Lavell Lee, the Rev. James Reeves and David W. Baker will officiate the service.
A native of Hancock County, Miss., he was a self-employed Truck Driver; owner of Alvin B. Lee Palet Company; a member of Lee's Chapel #2 Missionary Baptist Church; Picayune Lions Club; Hancock County Historical Society; and VFW Post #6275 at Kiln, Miss. He served honorably in the Korean War on the front line.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, James "Jimmy" Lee and Effie Jane Stockstill; his step-father, Chester C. Lee; and one sister, Ella Ree Palmer.
Survivors include: his wife of 56 years, Gerdell "Dell" Smith Lee of Leetown Community; brother, Berlon D. Lee of Leetown Community; sister, Nell Lee of Leetown Community; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Lee's Chapel #2 Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall and 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at the Lee's Chapel #2 Missionary Baptist Church.
