Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel for Bettie Alice Fornea Parker, 81, of Ridgeland, Miss., who passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 in Jackson, Miss.
Burial will be in Log Town Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. The Rev. James Fornea will officiate the service.
A native of Picayune, she was an Administrative Assistant and a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, John Benjamin Fornea and Nettie Mae Harris Fornea; her husband, James Walter Parker; and four brothers, Shirley John Fornea, James Edward Fornea, Aubrey Castle Fornea and Robert Paul Fornea.
Survivors include: her children, James Walter Parker, Jr. of Smithfield, Va., Jesse Don Parker of Metairie, La., Judy Alice Parker of Surfside, S.C., Reginald Jay Parker of Carriere and Nettie Irene Parker Bauman of West Hartford, Conn.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Willie Garland Fornea King of Millard.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home.
