Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. at White Funeral Home in Poplarville for Mr. Verlon Drexel Spiers, Sr., 70, of Poplarville who passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at his residence. Burial will be in Jesus Name Holiness Church in Poplarville.

A native of Poplarville, he was born November 2, 1939 to Overtis and Myrtle Amacker-Spiers. He was retired from Movie Star, Incorporated and a four year veteran of the United States Navy.

His parents precede him in death.

Survivors include: his wife, Miriam Spiers of Poplarville; one son, Verlon D. "Sonny" Spiers, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Pensacola, Fla.; two daughters, Jennifer Kimball and her husband Brian of Jackson, Miss., and Christi Taylor and her husband James of Poplarville; two brothers, Orville Ray Spiers of Bogalusa, La., and Gary O. Spiers, of the Philippine Island; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at White Funeral Home in Poplarville.
