1649 Oliver Cromwell transports Irish political prisoners to the island.

1651 Irish bring first slaves to Montserrat.

1768 St. Patrick’s Day, Slave rebellion on Montserrat.

1783 Treaty of Versailles, French return Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Montserrat to the British.

1996, Apr. 01 & Sept. 18, Chances Peak volcano erupts on Montserrat.

2000 Chances Peak volcano continues to erupt on Montserrat.
