The photo is the grave of MARY  NEAL  VANCE LEACH.  The large marker in
the background was placed there shortly after her death and identified her
only as  MARY LEACH.  The small stone identifies her as MARY NEAL VANCE  to
recognize that her first husband was JAMES ALEXANDER VANCE III (who was killed in the
Civil War) and was the father of all of her children.

This is the grave of J. P. (WOLFE) VANCE  (the J. P. was for
JERUSHA PARENTINE. She was the  daughter of  DAVID D. WOLFE and MARY NELSON
WOLFE (they are both buried nearby) and the wife of JAMES B. VANCE. The
WOLFE FAMILY were early settlers of that area and the family has been told that their old
family home is still standing.
The large marker was placed there shortly after her death. It had been
toppled and damaged. The familiy had it repaired and reset. The smaller foot marker
was placed there to assure that her resting place would be remembered for
many years.

Picture  THREE is the grave site of THOMAS W. VANCE .  The large marker
placed  flat on the grave was damaged beyond repair and could not be reset.
The family had it placed back together and cemented and the small stone was to assure
that the grave would be identified and remembered for many years.
Thomas was the husband of ADDIE MCLAIN who was also a native of that area.
The child, OLA SCOTT VANCE buried next to THOMAS
was the daughter of THOMAS W. and ADDIE MCLAIN VANCE.
