Ripley Men

This photo was found in Panoma, California, by a collector.  The back reads "Photo belongs to Chip Von Huesbchman early Ripley, Miss."  If you know anything at all about this photo please send the information.  The only Huesbchman I can find in connecting families of Tippah married Jeanette Taylor who was the daughter of Howard and Sarah Taylor who lived in Ripley around the turn of the last century.   It would be interesting to know the names of the people and what kind of gathering it was.

Tippah County is located in the northeast corner of the state. It is bordered by Alcorn,
Benton, Union, and Prentiss Counties in Mississippi and Hardeman County, in Tennessee. Tippah County was established  in February 9, 1836, and it is one of 10 counties created by the Chickasaw Cession.  In 1870, the reconstructionist government divided the county.  Parts that were once Tippah County now belong to Union, Prentiss, Benton, and Alcorn Counties.  If you have information that you think would be beneficial to this page, please send it in.  Let's make Tippah the most useful site on the Internet!

The links below try to capture the history of the first 100 years of Tippah County's existence.  The searchable data exist because we are fortunate to have wonderful volunteers dedicated to making Tippah County the most useful site of it's kind on the Internet.  If you would like to contribute your information to this page, please let me know.
