I have a puzzle and nothing but a dead end on one of my lines. There were at least seven brothers and sisters in the SW Mississippi area during the late 1800s. It is likely they were in Franklin County, but may have been in either of the surrounding counties (Amite, Adams, Lincoln, Pike, Copiah, lawrence, Wathall, Wilkinson). These Foster siblings were: Fanny Foster m. Monroe MORGAN, George Foster, Joseph Foster, Nan Foster m. _____________BULLOCK, Samuel Foster, Vick Foster married Frank BUTTON, Delton W. Foster (1860-1937) m. Lelia M. EADY. Who were the parents of these children? Where did they come from? Where did they go?
Delton W. Foster and Lelia Eady Foster are my ggrandparents. There is a family rumor that perhaps Delton was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana, and that he and Lelia married in Franklin County, Mississippi. Proof? I have none. Delton and Lelia were the parents of: Maude Foster m. Clifford TILLMAN, Lula Foster m. Alex DAVIS, Otis Foster m. Ophelia LOFTON, William Foster, Addie Foster m. John SUMRALL, Albert Foster m. __________ MOORE, Lonnie Foster m. Rhetha ___________. Some of the children of Delton and Lelia can be found in Lincoln and Lawrence County in the early part of the 1900s.

William Coulter WARNER in Pike Co. MS. Depending on which reference you use, the date of the marriage was 18 Aug 1888, or June 1887. I have much info on the WARNER Family to share, but need information on the GRAVES Family. All help appreciated. Leta is a great grandmother of my husband.

I am interested in the ALFORDs of Amite County. I know that my Sarah "Sally" ALFORD (b abt 1776) was mentioned in the will of her father, William, who died abt 1800 in Wayne Co, NC. She was married to Adam CARRAWAY, and they came to Amite Co, where she died abt 1851. Also mentioned in her father's will were his wife Sarah ALFORD, and children Nancy ALFORD, Pearcy ALFORD THOMPSON, Benjamin ALFORD, Lodwick ALFORD, Etheldred ALFORD and Caryann ALFORD.

Trying to locate date of death and/or place of burial for George Andrew HUX believed to be buried in Lawrence County. We believe he died in the 1940's or 1950's but we are not sure if it was in MS or LA - utl dth. cert. He was married to Luveniar HODGES, then Courtney BREWER, then to Floretta ARD. George was born May 24, 1877, at Ruth (Lincoln Co.) MS. Several very nice people have offered leads and suggestions online but so far we are still utl. George has a son and dau.-in-law buried in Tilton United Methodist Church Cemetary- Versie Andrew HUX and Bessie Jane BUCHANNAN. There are still many HUX descendents in Pike County, especially in the McComb and Summit areas.
Any leads or info on George Andrew HUX will be appreciated. I will be glad to share any info I have on this and other families with anyone who sends me a request. Thank you.

Nancy and John married June 19, 1849. He joined the Galilee Bpt Ch. in 1848. My great-grandfather was Robert M. Etheridge who married M.E. "Mandy" Bates d/o Christopher C. Bates. They lived in the Zion Hill community. My grandfather was Phineo Carter Etheridge who married Zella Bates d/o William Thomas Bates. We have just published Descendants of Nicholas Humes of Massachusetts, The First Five Generations, Vol. 1. We are gathering data for Vol. 2. There are descendants in MS. Mary C. Humes, a descendant, married John Warren Magee in Walthall Co. in 1870. She died in McComb in 1928. Her mother, Mary Catherine (Johns) Humes died in McComb in 1912.
