Granite County was formed in 1893 from Deer Lodge County. Parts of Granite County were also carved out of Missoula County.

Has divorce, probate and civil court records from 1893, marriages and naturalizations from 1895. 1996 Fees: Marriage Records: $.50 per page plus $2.00 certification fee, if needed; Searches over a period of years: $.50 per name per year, not to exceed $25.00; Other documents: $.50 per page for first five pages and $.25 per page thereafter.

Records prior to 1893, if existing, will be located in Deer Lodge and Missoula Counties.
