Anna Mae
Hanson (Posthumous)
|
Anna Mae Hanson was a member of the Broken Mountain
Genealogical Society [BMGS] in Chester
for many years and gave a great deal of time and service to that society. She
was one of the founding members of the state society and served as
historian until her death in October 1996. She was the kind of person that
quietly gave many - many hours, and never asked to have attention for her
efforts. More Detailed
Biography.
About the Award
The first Anna Mae Hanson award was announced at the 1997
Montana State Genealogical Society Annual Conference in Glendive,
MT. This is an award for
dedicated service in the genealogical community. We will accept nominations
from any member of the Montana State Genealogical Society. A committee of
three district representatives will be appointed by the president each year
to select the person to receive the award. Please be thinking of people in
your local society that you would like to nominate for this award. In our
Fall newsletter we will include a form
(also available online) for nominations and a deadline for turning them in.
From this time forward, we will give the award each year at our annual
conference.
