Newsletter: The Tri-County Searcher:  This publication was published from 1980 through 1997.  It is no longer published, but we do have copies of the back issues.  We have replaced our publication with specialized publications as noted below.

Publications for Sale

  • Naturalization is the final papers from the Chouteau County Records in Fort Benton, Montana. Chester is in Liberty County that was at one time part of Chouteau County before becoming apart of Hill County and then finally in 1920, it became Liberty. The material was transcribed and printed by members of Broken Mountain Genealogical Society in Sept. 1998 and the price for this booklet is $6.00. 
  • Homesteader Names is a list of homesteaders taken from a set of maps donated to the Liberty County Historical Museum. The map is not dated but appears to be from about 1913-1914. This alphabetized list was compiled by Marilyn Brown and published by BMGS in 1986. (Check with Pat Ludwig about the price for this publication.)
  • Obituary Index 1905 - 2000.  Name Index for the Obituaries of Liberty County; compiled in MS Word format. Each name on this index has an obituary in our file.   You can request Individual copies of the detailed information we have for $2.50, or the Index Booklet for $7.75.
