These are some of the photos that can be found in the book.

My grandfather, Charles Ellsworth Pintler (1854-1925) guarded gold bars in  the Giltedge Mine during the depression in about 1898.  Great Grandfather William Dundom (1838-1925) and Great Grandma Katie operated a horse and cattle ranch at Hanover,   (South Moccasin Mountains) and sold horses to South Africa during the Boer War.
My father, William Augustus Pintler, (1885-1976) with his parents, arrived in Lewistown in 1888 at the age of 3 years, following his father's mountain adventures exploring and blazing trails north of the Big Hole Valley, now called The Anaconda Pintler Wilderness.  My father  homesteaded nine miles southwest of Forest Grove in 1909, my mother, Florence McCallum rode horseback past his homestead cabin on her way to Great Divide School.  They were wed in Lewistown in 1916.  Other family pioneer Kate Dundomnames in  addition to Pintler who lived in Fergus County are: McCallum, (who homesteaded on Alaska Bench) Dundom, Sherman, Clark (John and Mary) and descendents, many of whom still live there. Mention of others in our book are John Ihde, and Chris Nelson.
Those who may be interested, shirt tail relation, that is, who are not in the book but descendents and live in the area are Fisher, James, Kent, Steele, Kizer, Fishburn.  Other names mentioned in the book, not neccessarily in this area are Barney, Hale and Young.
The links, link to other Pintler Wilderness websites in order to promote the book to those the world over who frequent the wilderness area.  It was written to tell a story that needed to be told.   There was controversy over the spelling, the name, (Pintler to Kennedy?)  All in all, a story of the Pintlers.  It is not geneaologically written, but has a wealth of information to those who live in Montana or those who long to visit the area.
By the way, my co-author and I chose THE GILTED EDGE as our business name, how about that?   [Gilted Edge comes from the mining town of Gilt Edge, now pretty much a ghost town] We have fond memories of my father and grandmother Katie relating stories of Giltedge, the Musselshell, Moore.  Some are included in the book, also photos, maps, illustrations, unusual documents.
