CD ROM Yellowstone County School Records
This is a listing of children attending schools within the county from 1914
through 1930; excepting for the residents residing in Billings City limits. It
is a self-contained listing file that can be viewed using your built-in word
processor; or a self-contained data base viewer. There are over 100,000 names
in the list. Additional files, sorted by surname, mother's maiden name, or
location are provided for those persons who have minimal space on their
computer for reading large files. Information provided is surnames & given
names of child, father & mother, childbirth date, sex, locations where
attended school. Cost for the CD-ROM is $10.00, including shipping.
The rosters of children attending school within Billings city limits is
retained on hard copy and microfilm in the court house's school district
manager's office, along with records from the other areas after 1931. These are
available for lookup by Donna McKamy.

POLK City Directories
City Directories for various towns & years throughout Montana, Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, are available for sale or trade. Contact Cleve Kimmel montana_cal@auroraholdingsllc.com for additional information and availability. Cost varies from $5 to $300 each, depending upon the publication date and original cost, including post office mailing fee. The earlier directories contain history and current commercial information about the city including photographs of major buildings and street scenes, and some details about the various officers in clubs and businesses. They are a valuable source of information. Additional directories added February 2005, are listed in RED. Smith Funeral Home donated 22 Billings books in April 2005. These are listed in Blue.
