RECEIVED INCREASE
COMRADE SAMUEL FREEMAN, Late Co. H, 25th U. S. Infty 1890-1895, writes,
"It's a pleasure to me to advise the staff of "Winners of the West"
of the success of securing the increase of pension from $55 to $72. My
increase of pension will begin with the date of my application, March 16,
1938. I want it to be known the great work of the "Winners of the West"
and Camp 11 has done and I express my gratitude in regards to what the
Camp Officers and Members have done for the National Indian War Veterans
in the past 10 years or more. Many thanks to those engaged in this favorable
work for our Veterans of Indian Wars. The "Winners of the West" says 'Keep
up good courage, stick up for your rights and you'll come out ahead in
the long run!" Ain't that the truth! So I shall ring off for this time.
Would like to write you more but can't because of bad eyesight. May God
bless the "Winners of the West" and staff and I sincerely hope the Veterans
who are receiving their increase in pension will live long to enjoy it."
