Will of Colonel James Burden Brown

The following will was found on NB archives Film Number F11567 Probate Court Records 1889-1893.

Registered on October 1 1891.

"I, James Brown of the Parish of Campobello in the County of Charlotte in the Province of New Brunswick Lieutenant Colonel do make this my last will and testament.

I hereby revoke all former wills by me at any time herefor made.

I devise give and bequeath to Luther Brown, my grandson the Eastern half of a lot of land now owned by me on the Eastern half of the Highway leading from Head Harbour Light House to Wilson's Beach. To hold to his use and behold forever.

I devise give and bequeath to my great grandsons the two sons of William O. Brown now residing with there mother at Wilson's Beach viz: Lowell and Welock the Western half of the said lot of land on the Eastern Side of said highway. To hold to there as truants in common forever.

As for all the rest residue and remainder of my estate real and personal of every nature and kind what so ever I devise, give and bequeath the same subject to and changeable with the payment of my debts and funeral expenses to my son Barthelomew Brown his heirs, executors and administration and assyers to his - - - - - - - - - - - their use and behold forever.

And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said son the sole executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness where of I the said James Brown have herewrite set my hand and seal this ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said James Brown for his last will and testament in presence of us who in the presence of each other and in the presence of the said James Brown have herewrite - - - - - - - - - - - - -names and witnesses: - - - - - - - - - - Malloch, Thomas - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -.
