Pennfield---The community was
saddened to hear of the death of Waitstill Mohan Anthony of
Pennfield, Charlotte County on October 29, 1973 after a lengthy
illness.
Mr. Anthony was born January 28, 1930, a son
of Mrs. Elizabeth Anthony and the late Howard Anthony of Wilson's
Beach, Campobello.
Mr. Anthony was a member of the St. George
Lodge, F. and A.M. He was employed with
Connor's Bros. Ltd. of Black's Harbour for several years and for
the past 2 & 1/2 years has been employed with the Lake Utopia
Paper Mill.
Besides his wife, the former Frances Barry of
St. George, he is survived by two sons; Leigh and Stephen, both
at home; his mother Mrs. Elizabeth Anthony of Black's Harbour, N.
B.; seven brothers, ---Wesley of Bridgewater, N.S.,
Milledge of Martinon, N.B., Ralph and Willard of Black's Harbour,
Graeham of Pawtucket, R.I., Gordon of Saint John, and James of
Meriden, Conn. One brother predeceased him in 1960.
Also surviving are seven sisters;
(Merle) Mrs. Charles Furson, Saint John, (Laura) Mrs. Lawrence
Wilcox, Lake Utopia, (Edith) Mrs. Albert Johnson, (Seretha) Mrs.
Walter Munn, and (Ruth) Mrs. Samuel Beney, all of Black's
Harbour; (Lillian) Mrs. Vance Justason of Westfield and
Mary at home.
Pallbearers were Lic.Robert Johnson, Gerry
Moore, Orland Wright, Howard P. Justason, Philip Taylor and
Freddie Cook.
The body rested at home until Thursday morning
when it was taken to St. George Funeral Home for service with
Rev. Furgus McElrea officiating. Two favorite hymns were
sung, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Only Remember"
by Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Disher.
Interment was made in the St. George Rural
Cemetery.
The profusion of flowers, cards and donations
to the Heart Fund, Cancer Society, Gideon Bible Society, showed
the esteem in which he was held and how sadly he will be missed
by his family and friends and neighbours. Members of the
family attended the funeral from Pawtucket, R. I.;
Bridgewater, N.S.; Meriden, Conn., Halifax, N.S. Trenton Ont.,
Holland Landing, Ont., Orono, Me.,Bangor, Me., Martinon, N.B.
Saint John, Westfield and surrounding areas.

Harbour—The death of Howard Waterson Anthony, 66, of
Blacks Harbour, occurred in Saint John General Hospital. Funeral
service was held from the residence here to Calvary United
Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Brittain officiating, assisted by
Rev. A D Cann.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Wesley Anthony Jr., Walter
McPherson, Allison Wilcox, Howard Johnson, Charles Johnson, and
Chester Evans.
Mr. Anthony was born at Wilson’s Beach, Campobello, a
son of the late James Edgar and Elizabeth Maud (Hilyard) Anthony.
He resided on Campobello until 1941, moving to Blacks Harbour,
where he was employed with Connors Bros. Ltd. for 25 years.
Among the many floral tributes were public pieces from the
Reformed Church Sunday school; Pentecostal Church; Baptist
Church, Wilson’s Beach; Ganong Brothers Limited, St.
Stephen; Irving Oil Company Ltd., Saint John; No. 5 Factory,
Connors Bros. Ltd., Lahey Clinic, Boston, Mass., and donations to
the Gideon Bible Society and a memorial to the Canadian Heart
Fund.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Lillian
Fletcher; seven daughters, Mrs. Charles McPherson,
Saint John, Mrs. Lawrence Wilcox, Lake Utopia, Mrs. Albert
Johnson, Mrs. Walter Munn, Mrs. Samuel Beney,
all of Blacks Harbour, Mrs. J Vance Justason, Lakewood,
and Miss Mary Anthony, Blacks Harbour; eight sons, Wesley
E, Bridgewater, Mass., Graeme D, Boston, Mass., Millidge G,
Martinon, Willard W, Waitstill M, Gordon C, James E, and Ralph B,
all of Blacks Harbour; four sisters, Mrs. Owen Lank, Mrs.
Leslie Newman and Mrs. Harry Martin, all of
Wilson’s Beach, Mrs. Hazen Laman, Little Lepreau;
four brothers, Lewis, Medford, Lare, and Otis, all of
Wilson’s Beach; 46 grandchildren; three great grandchildren;
several nephews and nieces.
A son Ronald A Anthony died four years ago.

ANTHONY, DALLAS GRAEME - Unexpectedly at his residence on November 29, 2001, Mr. Dallas Graeme Anthony of Reading, Massachusetts and formerly of Blacks Harbour, NB. Born in Campobello, NB on July 16, 1934, he was a son of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Fletcher) Anthony. Dallas is survived by two brothers; Gordon of Saint John and Ralph and his wife June of Blacks Harbour, six sisters; Merle McPherson of Saint John, Laura Wilcox of Utopia, Seretha, Mrs. Walter Munn of Blacks Harbour, Ruth, Mrs. Samuel Beney of Pennfield, Lillian, Mrs. Vance Justason of Westfield and Mary, Mrs. Stephen Boyd of Pennfield, one aunt; Bernice Martin of Campbello and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by one sister; Edith Johnston and six brothers; Wes, Millidge, Ronald, James, Waistill and Willard. After leaving Blacks Harbour, Graeme, as he was known by, went to Reading and worked at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass., where he retired after 40 years. Rested at the Doherty Funeral Home in Reading, Mass., with visiting on Sunday evening. He was then brought home to rest at the United Pentecostal Church in Blacks Harbour where the service was held on Tuesday at 2 PM followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visitation was at the Church on Tuesday from 10-12 noon. In his memory, donations were made to a charity of the donors choice. Arrangements were in the care of the Doherty Funeral Home of Reading, Mass., and the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB.

ANTHONY- After a lengthy illness at the Grand Manan Nursing Home, North Head, Florence Elva (Benson) Anthony, 95, of Seal Cove, widow of the late Mayford Anthony, Campobello, and formerly married to the late Harley Small, Seal Cove, daughter of the late Lemeul and Aderine (Osborne) Benson, Seal Cove; survived by two daughters, Jessie, Mrs. Vinton McLauglin and Margaret, Mrs. Ernest Bagley, Seal Cove; one step-daughter, Betty, Mrs. Donald Belinski, Fredericton; two sons, James and Lyndon Small of Seal Cove; two step-sons, Burdell and Ross Anthony both of Saint John; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren. Rested at Seal Cove United Baptist Church, Seal Cove, from where the funeral services were held. Interment in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery, Seal Cove.

Surrounded by his family, at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB, the death of Mr. Ralph Bertrum Anthony, husband of June Elaine (Curran) Anthony, occurred on Thursday, April 1, 2004.
Born on Campobello Island, NB, May 25, 1925, he was a son of the late Howard Watterson Anthony and Elizabeth Lillian (Fletcher) Anthony. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Bertrum (Rebecca) of Pennfield, NB, Howard (Cathy) of Oak Bay, NB, Dallas (Melanie) of St. George, NB; six daughters, Bonnie (Mrs. Mark Seelye) and Elizabeth Anthony, all of Blacks Harbour, NB, Glenna (Mrs. Allen Mahar) and Lori (Mrs. Ian Hudson) all of Pennfield, NB, Sherri & companion David McLaughlin of St. George, NB and Dorothy (Mrs. David Small) of Pennfield, NB; fifteen grandchildren, Andrew, Leighann, Penny, Lori-Beth, Christa, Edward, Patricia, Jessica, Katelyn, Wesley, Abigail, Noah, Courtney, Alexander and Jade; one great-granddaughter, Rachael; six sisters, Merle McPherson, Seretha (Mrs. Walter Munn), Laura Wilcox, Ruth Beney, Lillian (Mrs. Vance Justason) and Mary (Mrs. Stephen Boyd); one brother, Gordon (Rose); many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ralph was pre-deceased by seven brothers, Ronald, Waitstill, Wesley, James, Millidge, Willard and Graeme, and one sister, Edith. Ralph was a fisherman in his earlier years, and for over 20 years worked maintenance for Connors Bros. Ltd. in Blacks Harbour, NB. He was an avid dart player, loved hunting and fishing, but his passion was his grandchildren.
Resting at the Wesleyan Church, Blacks Harbour from where the service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm with Rev. Bruce Cheney officiating. Visiting hours on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Donations to the Alzheimer Society, the Diabetes Association, Fundy Nursing Home, or a charity of the donors choice, would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533).

ANTHONY- Lewis Clyde Anthony died June 30, 1990 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He is survived by his wife Jeanette of Campobello. Born May 9, 1906, he was a lifelong resident of Campobello Island and an active member of the Wilson’s Beach Baptist Church. He was predeceased by son, Bennett of Campobello. He had ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, as well as one sister, Bernice Martin of Campobello. The funeral was held at the church at Wilson’s Beach, Tuesday, July 3 with Rev. Masson as clergy.

ANTHONY- Bennette Ford Anthony of Campobello, passed away at the Regional Hospital in Saint John on Dec. 5, 1988 after an illness of several weeks. He was born at Campobello April 27, 1929, and was the son of Lewis and Janet (Newman) Anthony. He is survived by his wife Katheryne (Mitchell) Anthony; his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Lewis Anthony; one daughter, Mrs. William (Wanda) Brown of Robbinston, Maine; four sons, Kennard and Philip of Saint John, Stephen and Lewis (Boo) of Campobello; two brothers, Merrill of Saint John and Clinton of Fredericton; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body rested at McDonald’s Funeral Home in St. Stephen until taken to the United Baptist Church, Wilson’s Beach, where the funeral was held Wed., Dec. 7. The service was conducted by Rev. Walter Masson with graveside prayers by Rev. Francis Mabey. Interment at the Wilson’s Beach Community Cemetary.

GRANDMANAN- Mr. Otis Anthony of Seal Cove, died April 20, 1972 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen. Survivors include his wife; one daughter; one son; four sisters; three brothers; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in the Seal Cove United Baptist Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
