of ALFRED BURGESS and WINIFRED.

Notes for BERNARD HARRY RYNAX:

Bernard was a WWII vet, he joined the army in Toronto with the Toronto
Scottish Regiment in 1939. He spent 6 years over seas. His Regiment
landed in Caen on D-Day. He was awarded 6 metals and the rank of Master
Sargent. He met Phyllis Burgess while over seas. He said he knew he'd
found the right one because they only knew each other for two weeks
before they married. After the war he came back to New Brunswick and
Phyllis and baby Deltha followed a year later on The QE 1. After their
arrival they returned to Toronto,  where Sylvia was born and then
finally Brampton, where Shirley & Keith were born.  Bernard or "Barney"
as he preferred, opened up serveral different Barber Shops in Brampton.
In the 60's he had the largest single shop in Brampton, perhaps Ontario
at the time, it was known as " Barney's Seven Chairs".  He was a strong
man in will and strength, although short in stature. He was an avid
Hockey & Lacrosse Fan. Always enjoyed gardening and wood- working in his
spare time. In the time that I had with him he would only drive
Mercury's, he tried a brand new 1960 Chev Belair once but the roof
leaked. Dad was a Great Father although sometimes stern, he loved his
Family very much and would do anything within his power to help them.
After Mom got sick with lung cancer and died in 1972, he just seemed to
lose interest in life. He missed her so very much. It's said that he
basically died of a broken heart, although following mom's death he
suffered from many strokes and heart attacks. But eventually died from a
slow aneurysm in his stomach. Both Bernard and Phyllis are buried in The
Old Brampton Cemetery, Lot 6 A&C Plan BR13 Conc 1E, Chinguacousy
Township Region of Peel. Their gravestone reads as follows, In Loving
Memory of Phyllis A Burgess Died July 11, 1972. Beloved Wife of Bernard
H Rynax Died Mar. 7, 1979. " A Golden Heart Stopped Beating, Two Working
Hands at Rest, God Broke Our Hearts To Prove To Us, He Only Takes The
Best. "  Needless to say they are sadly missed and will always be loved
and remembered forever.
