O'BRIEN, BARBARA ELLEN (GRANT) -
The death of Barbara Ellen (Grant) O\rquote Brien, loving wife of
Ludger O'Brien of Saint John, occurred on Sunday October 6, 2002
at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born April 15, 1943 in Dow
Settlement, NB, she was a daughter of the late Bruce and Lucy (Johnson)
Grant. She
was a member of the Sea Belles Barbershop Singers, and an avid
Bingo player. Besides her husband she is survived by one son
Darren of Saint John; one daughter Delores (Richard) O\rquote
Bien-MacNab of Saint John; one brother Ronald (Elaine) Grant of
Canterbury, NB; two sisters Helen (Fred) Watson of Lindsay,
Ontario and Edna (James) Shannon of St. Stephen, NB; one brother
in law Richard Atkinson of Canterbury and one sister in law Dale
Grant of Canterbury; two grandchildren Brendan and Courtney
MacNab; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sister Audrey Atkinson, brother Melvin Grant, infant brother
Richard and infant sister Agnes predeceased her. Resting at Fundy
Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424), with
visitation on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. following cremation the
funeral will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday
October 9, 2002 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross
Cemetery. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the
charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.

O'DONNELL, SIMON PATRICK -
Simon Patrick O'Donnell of Bath passed away at the Northern
Carleton Hospital on Wednesday September 24, 2003 at the age of
70. Predeceased by his wife Cecilia Landry who passed away only
three months ago in a motor vehicle accident. Simon is survived
by Daughter Kelly (Brian) Dugan of Bath, Sons, Randy (Rhonda), of
Gordonsville, Tony of Bath, Chris (Dot) of Centreville, Kevin (Madeline)
of Oakland and Tim (Cindy) of Georgetown, ON, Sisters, Alicia
Miller and Mary Nicholson, Brother, Clarence. Several
Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Remains resting at
Kilcollins Funeral Home Bath, visiting Sunday September 28, 2003,
2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Celebrated
on Monday September 29, 2003 at 11AM from St. Joseph's Church
Bath. Interment will follow in the Johnville Cemetery. In lieu of

O'KEEFE, J. BEVERLY (BEV) -
The death of Mr. J. B. (Bev) O'Keefe, of Florenceville, NB,
husband of Mary T. (Quigley) O'Keefe, occurred on Friday,
November 15, 2002 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in
Saint John, he was the
son of the late Roy and Ann (Geldart) O'Keefe. Bev attended St. Vincent's
Boys School and worked in the family grocery business from 1950-1953,
before going on to work with Irving Oil Ltd. in 1953, leaving the
company as its Senior Executive Sales and Operations Manager in
1963, to pursue further employment with McCain Foods Ltd. Bev
left the McCain Group of Companies as President and Chief
Executive Officer of Thomas Equipment Ltd. in 1977, to become the
President and Chief Executive Officer of Juniper Lumber Co. Ltd.,
until 2000. He was a member of St. Leo's Parish in Florenceville,
NB and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. Bev
participated in many volunteer organizations, including the
Kidney Foundation, served as a Trustee on the Board of Home and
School and held many directorships, including the Maritime Lumber
Bureau, the New Brunswick Forest Products Association and the
Advisory Board to the Dean of Forestry of the University of New
Brunswick. Bev will be sadly missed and remembered by his loving
wife, Mary; two daughters, Susan of Moncton; Dianne Lord (Kevin)
of Florenceville, NB; and one son, David (Karen) of
Florenceville; five grandchildren, Sarah, Lori, Briann, Meghan
and Maddie; and his extended family, Bill Vance, Alex and Julie
of Moncton. He is survived by three sisters, Valerie Moran,
Evelyn Ann Watters (Paul) and Patsie O\rquote Keefe-Tracy (Terry)
and one brother, Tom (Lynn) and several nieces and nephews. He
was predeceased by one brother, Roy (Tarzie) O\rquote Keefe.
Resting at Brenan\rquote s Select Community Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), with visiting on Sunday,
7-9 p.m. and Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Somerset Street, Saint
John, on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at 12:00 noon. Interment in
St. Joseph\rquote s Cemetery. Remembrances to the Kidney
Foundation of Canada, the Saint John Regional Hospital (Palliative
Care Unit), the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the
donors choice would be appreciated by the family. A Vigil Service
will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m.

OLTS, ETTA REGINA -
Of Woodstock, NB passed away on Friday April 5th, 2002 at The
Carleton Manor at the age of 104. Etta is survived by cousins,
James and David Olts, Paul Porter, George Porter, Clara Stewart,
Claydon Porter and Velma Gurrier. She was born in Meductic, NB on
December 15, 1897, the daughter of George P. Olts and Eva
Lounsbury. She was predeceased by her sister Violet. Her father
operated a General Store in Meductic and exported pulp to the
United States. Etta moved to Woodstock in the 1930\rquote s and
lived with her sister, Violet and brother-in-law, Clarence Hayden.
In May, 1975, she moved to the Carleton Manor. Funeral Service
will be held on Monday at 2 pm from The Scott Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Dale Greer officiating with interment in the Methodist
Cemetery, Woodstock at a later date.

OLMSTEAD, RONALD GILBERT -
Of Grafton N.B. passed away at Saint John Regional Hospital in
Saint John on Wednesday, February 5, 2003, at the age of 71. Ron
is survived by his wife Pauline MacArthur; two brothers, Harley
Olmstead of London, Ontario and Leonard (Jo) Olmstead of Pt.
Clair, PQ; two nieces Jennifer Hornby and Lisa Olmstead of Pt.
Clair, PQ. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street,
Woodstock, N.B. with visiting on Friday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm from The
Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Danny Olmstead and pastor Eric
MacKinnon will be officiating, with interment in the Grafton
Cemetery at a later date.

OPIE, ARVILLA FAYE -
Arvilla Faye Opie of Woodstock and formerly of Jacksonville at
Carleton Memorial Hospital on Saturday, July 26, 2003. She was
the wife of the late Ronald Opie who predeceased her on December
30, 2000. She is survived by daughters Donna Opie (Jack Gibson),
Carol McLellan (John), Carla Opie, Brenda Opie all of Woodstock,
NB, son Stanley Opie of Jacksonville, NB, special friend John
Welch, brother-in-law Bertram Opie (Joyce) and nieces Heather
Jones (Scott), Wanda Opie, nephew Lawrence Troy, two
grandchildren Susan and Allison McLellan, sister Opal Troy
predeceased her and infant daughter Audrey Opie. Visitation at
the Culberson Funeral Home 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, NB on
Monday, July 28, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be
held on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 from Culberson Funeral Chapel at 2:00
p.m. with Rev. L. Cousins officiating. Interment to follow at
Woodstock Rural Cemetery. Donations to Canadian Red Cross or NB
Heart and Stroke would be appreciated.
| 01/22/2004 ORSER, CHESTER B. - Chester B. Orser, of Saint John, formerly of Hartland, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Saint John. He was born April 3, 1912 and was the son of the late Albert and Elsie Orser of Hartland. He is survived by sisters, Caroline (Carrie) McNulty of Saint John, Katherine Foster of Edmundston, brothers Aubrey (Ted) Orser of Saint John, Forrest Orser and his wife Rachel Orser of Oromocto, several nieces and nephews. Resting at The Britton Funeral Home, High Street, Hartland with visiting hours on Thursday, January 22nd, from 1 to 2 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Lorne Britton Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. the same day. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hartland at a later date. |
