Of Lower Woodstock passed away at her home on Thursday, May 30,
2002, at the age of 45. Susan is survived by two sons John P.
Rairdon of Lower Woodstock and Adam L. Rairdon of Ottawa, Ont; 2
daughters Amanda V. Rairdon of Lower Woodstock, and Victoria L.
Caines of Lower Woodstock; mother D. Pauline MacArthur of
Grafton; two brothers Peter MacArthur and his wife Bev of Ottawa,
Ont, and Brent MacArthur and his wife Nola of Woodstock, nieces
and nephews. Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street,
Woodstock NB. With visiting on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm from The Scott
Chapel. Captain Nelson Walkins will be officiating, with
interment in the Kirk Cemetery, Northampton, NB.

Augusta, Maine--Mrs. Lulu M. Raymond, 93, died at her home, 11
Crosby Street., on Friday.
She was born March 12, 1884, in Middle Simonds, New Brunswick,
the daughter of
Elizah L. and Margaret Christian Shaw.
She was the widow of Byron C. Raymond.
She is survived by a son, Gordon B. Raymond, North Falmouth; a
daughter, Mrs. Margaret R. Small, Augusta; four grandchildren,
and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a
daughter, Mrs. Irvine (Gertrude) Anderson.
Private funeral services will be held at 15 Flagg Street.,
Augusta.

RAYMOND, Hiram
From OBSERVER, 16 Sep 1920: "Death - There died at Woodstock
on Sep 9, Rev. Hiram Raymond, a minister of the Adventist
Church at the ripe old age of 92 years and six months. Mr.
Raymond was born and lived the whole of his long life at Middle
Simonds, but during his late illness he lived with his daughter,
Miss Maud Raymond, a trained nurse. Other daughters are Mrs.
Fred Everett of Jacksonville and Mrs. John Farley of California.
Two daughters are dead. Sons are George Raymond on the old
homestead at Middle Simonds and David W. in Montana. His
wife was Charlotte, daughter of the late Elisha Shaw of Simonds.
The son of
the late Newman Raymond, he was one of six brothers, the others being
David, Abijah, Daniel, Samuel, and John, all of whom are dead.
Sisters were Mrs. Elizabeth Raymond Wheeler of Florenceville, and
Harriet who was the wife of the late Daniel Shaw of Simonds."

RAYMOND, MADELINE CATHERINE -
The death of Madeline Catherine Raymond, of Woodstock, NB
occurred at the Dr. Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, June 23, 2002.
Born in Woodstock on February 14, 1921, she was the youngest daughter of John J.
and Minnie (McIntosh) Raymond, she was predeceased by her
parents and two brothers, Boyd Raymond and Perley Raymond; one
sister Ernestine Raymond. Madeline is survived by her older
sister, Mary Kirkpatrick. Madeline graduated from Woodstock High
School and the Carleton County Vocational School, following
graduation she was employed as office manager in the firm of
Newnham and Slipp for over 40 years. She was a member of St.
Paul\rquote s Presbyterian Church, a member of Brunswick Rebekah
Lodge, a member and Past Matron of Victoria Chapter No 1 Order of
the Eastern Star and Past Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of
New Brunswick, Order of the Eastern Star. In her younger days,
she enjoyed bowling, curling and golf. Resting at The Scott
Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on
Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held on
Wednesday at 2:00 PM from Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Paul
Brown will be officiating assisted by Dr. Bruce Redding.
Interment will be in the family plot in the Old Methodist
Cemetery. Remembrances in memory of Madeline may be made to the
Shriners Hospital for Children.

Goldie Marie Redmond, of Fredericton passed away at Carleton
Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Monday, December 9, 2002, at
the age of 73. She is survived by her husband Malcolm A. Redmond

Fredericton, NB; three sisters Minnie Riley of Windsor, NS; Ruby

2002 at Meductic. Survived by his wife, Jean A. (Ginson) Rees;
three daughters, five sons, his mother Ada Rees of Woodstock; two
brothers, 16 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Resting

The death of Janet Reid of the Victoria Glen Manor, occurred on
October 15, 2002, at the Hotel Dieu Hospital at the age of 90.
Born in Bristol, NB, she is survived by two daughters Marie (Claude)
Crawford of Perth-Andover and Shirley Reid of London, Ont.; one
son Burnell (Esther) Reid of Kitchener, Ont.; 9 grandchildren and
13 great grandchildren; one brother Donald (Marion) Curtis of
Bristol, NB. Predeceased by her husband Blair Reid, parents Henry
and Elva (Tapley) Curtis, one daughter Norma, 7 sisters and one

age 82 of Avondale passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2002

predeceased by his wife Beatrice and one daughter, Cora Burke. He
is survived by his daughter Marie (Brian) McLaughlin of
Deerville, son-in-law Raymond (Karen) Burke of Williamstown, six
grandchildren, sisters-in-law Blanche Rideout and Jean Robinson,
nieces and nephews. Resting at the Britton Funeral Home, High

ROGERS, GERALD DAVIS
Peacefully at the Northern Carleton Hospital on January 20, 2002,
Gerald Davis Rogers, 77 of Bristol was taken home to be with his
Lord with his journey completed. Although many hearts are
saddened, he will be lovingly remembered forevermore. He was the son of the late Duncan and Edna
(Davis) Rogers and
was the last surviving member of his family. Gerald is survived
by his devoted wife and tireless care giver of 58 years, Mildred
(Jensen) Rogers; four daughters, Geraldine Reilly, Doreen (Dale
Giberson) both of Bristol, Barb (Gary Clark) and Wanda (Gaylon
Giggie) both of Fredericton. Gerald was both Grampie an
privileged to be acting father to two granddaughters, Wendy (Jeff
Hewitt) of Pembroke, Ontario and Nanette (Charles Walker) of
Bristol; grandchildren, Kirk (Sherry) Giberson, Tina and Lee
Clark, Jacob, Janaya and Julia Giggie; great grandchildren Cole
and Brody Giberson, Lucas, Landan and Braedon Hewitt, Mariah
Walker and Veronica Clark. Gerald Rogers served his country
overseas in World War II. He was a member of the Bristol United
Baptist Church, The Royal Canadian Legion and the Pipefitters
Association of NB. Although he worked away from home, he spent
his entire life in Bristol. Gerald also belonged to Mont McLean's
Bristol Boy's Club where he spent many mornings enjoying coffee
and fellowship with his many friends. Visiting hours will take
place Wednesday January 23, 2002 at Kilcollins Chapel, 18 Station
Street, Florenceville, 2-4 and 7-9 pm Funeral services will be
held on Thursday, January 24, 2002 at 3:30 pm from Kilcollins
Chapel, Florenceville. Rev. Rick Bruce officiating. Interment
will take place in The Rogers Cemetery, Bristol at a later date.
A legion memorial service will take place Wednesday evening at 6:45

ROGERS, JEAN ALICE,
1904-2002 Jean Alice Rogers, of Windsor Court in Fredericton,
died July 18, 2002 at the Death Notice for McAdam's Funeral Home
Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a short illness. She was born
February 23, 1904 in Northampton, NB, the youngest child of Harrison W.
and Emily (Knox) Rogers. She was predeceased by her parents, her
brothers Clifford (Ethel Hanson), LaFayette (Evelyn Dodge),
Harrison (Adelais MacCuish), Howard (Marion Fleet), and Douglas (Ileen
Hunter), and sisters Esther (John Draper) and Louise (William
Robinson), and by nephews Frank Rogers and Paul and Dalton
Robinson. She is survived by, and was held in great affection by,
nephews and nieces Laurence (Muriel) and Clair (Mae) Rogers and
Marjory (Allan) Donaldson; Esther and David (Iris) Rogers;
Franklin (Jean), Carl (Marion) and Shirley Robinson, Emily (Roy)
Fox and Betty (Ron) Kitchen; Howard (Joan) and David (Jane)
Rogers; Glenn (Maxine) and Gary (Jannis) Rogers, Dorothy (Ralph)
Donnelly and Lois (Edward) Degelman, and by many grand- and great-grand
nephews and nieces. She was the Rogers family historian. Jean
trained as an RN at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, and
for most of her career did private nursing at the Royal Vic and
the Ross Memorial. She retired to Fredericton in 1969, living at
Churchill Gardens until she moved to Windsor Court in 1999. She
was a member of Wilmot United Church. By her request, there will
be no visitation or funeral, but a memorial service will be
arranged for a later date. McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home
is in charge of arrangements.

September 12, 2002. He was 73. Mr. George Rosborough of
Jacksonville was born on August 23, 1929 in Fredericton, N.B. to

Alexander and Lillian (Jarvis) Rosborough. He is survived by his wife of
37 years, Audrey (MacMaster) Rosborough, four children, Sandra
Billings (James) of Cloverdale, N.B., Gloria Brown (Gerald) of
Woodstock, N.B., Eleanor McKinney (Carl) of Brenton, N.B., and
Glendon Fox of Woodstock, N.B., nine grandchildren, 12 great
grandchildren, one brother, William (Vi) of Fredericton, N.B. and

Woodstock on Monday, April 22, 2002, at the age of 76. Dennis is
survived by his wife Dorothy; four daughters, Doreen Antworth and
her husband Dale of Rosedale, NB; Marilyn Rossignol and her
husband Maurice of Jacksonville, NB; Darlene Davis and Crystal
Rosevear both of Sussex, NB; two sons, Larry Rosevear and his
wife Ricky of Lower Woodstock, NB; and Bradley Rosevear; two
sisters, Cleda Hatt of Woodstock, NB; Isabella Estabrook of Upper
Waterville, NB. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; five
great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Dennis was pre-deceased
by his
parents, Fred and Martha (Carthew) Rosevear and four brothers, Jack; Ronald;

ROSS LOUISE E.
SCARBOROUGH E. Louise Mutch Ross, 86,
formerly of Augusta, died Feb. 20, 2001, at a Cape Elizabeth nursing home. She was born in Woodstock, New
Brunswick, a
daughter of Charles Edward and Fannie Amelia Pickle Mutch, attended Woodstock schools and
graduated from Woodstock High School. She graduated from
Community College of Carleton County with honors. She married
Leland A. Ross of Monticello. They moved to Augusta and had four
children.
Mrs. Ross was a member of the Zonta International's Augusta and
Maine chapters, and served as chairman of the service committee.
She also served on the executive council for the Kennebec County
Extension Service. For the past 20 years she was a member of the
South Portland Church of the Nazarene
She studied interior decorating at the University of Maine in
Orono. She served as church board secretary for the Augusta
Church of the Nazarene and taught college and high school-age
Sunday school classes. She was vice president and co-owner of
Ross Construction Co., which built several Maine highways. She
served as clerk for several legislative committees and was a
member of the Legislative Finance Staff for 15 years.
After retirement she spent winters in Florida and moved to South
Portland.
She liked traveling, antiques and enjoyed studying early glass,
and had a collection of Portland Glass. She owned an antique shop
in Augusta and spoke at women's clubs on antiques.
Her husband died in 1978. An infant daughter, Cleo Ross, a son,
Richard L. Ross, and a grandson, Bradford W. Ross, also died
previously.
Surviving is a son, Wayne H. Ross of South Portland; a daughter,
Marie R. Ross of Alton, N.H.; a brother, Edward C. Mutch of
Woodstock, New Brunswick; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be 9:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the South
Portland Church of the Nazarene. A funeral will follow at 10 a.m.
at the church with the Rev. Roland Dunlop officiating. Burial
will be at noon in the Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery,
Augusta, with the Rev. Stanley Ross officiating. Arrangement are

ROURKE, LENARD FREDERICK -
Of Hampton, 39 years of age, beloved husband of Sherrie (Gillen)
Rourke and loving father to Nicholas and Mitchell, died suddenly
July 12, 2002 at his residence. He was born at Woodstock, son of Allison (Allie) and
Alice (Long) Rourke
of Quispamsis. Fred spent his formative years in Hampton where he
was very involved in many sporting activities. Through the years
Fred had volunteered at the Simonds Fire Department, was an avid
fisherman, hunter, and woodworker. He enjoyed NASCAR and played

number of years before becoming a full time hockey father.
Survived along with loving wife and parents, are two sons,
Nicholas and Mitchell, at home; one sister, Debbie Hatt (Tim) of
Quispamsis; three brothers, Danny (Pauline) of Montreal, Dale (Cathy)
of Forest Glen, Brent (Susan) of Hampton; several aunts, uncles,
nieces and nephews. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541),
1063 Main Street, Hampton. The funeral will be held Monday at St.
Alphonsus Church with service at 10:00 am. Rev. Peter Bagley
officiating. Interment in Hampton Rural Cemetery. Memorials to
Hampton Minor Sports would be appreciated by the family. Visiting
2-4pm & 7-9pm Saturday and Sunday.

Mrs. Etta
Rush, 48, wife of John Rush, passed away in the Madison Hospital,
Houlton Maine, January 21,1944 after a short illness of pneumonia.
She is survived by her husband, her father Richard Crabbe of Debec, N.B. and two sons,
Donald Rush, Houlton, Paul at home, one daughter Muriel at home,
three brothers, Clayton, Debec: Roy and Donald, Houlton: two
sisters, Mrs. Jennie McGuire, Woodstock; and Mrs. Arthur
Kallenburg, Calais. The funeral was held at St. Agnes Church,
Debec, where High Mass of Requiem was celebrated by Father
MacFarlane. Interment was in St. Agnes Cemetary.

Donald F. Rush, Dover-Foxcroft Donald F. Rush, 57, died unexpectedly Dec. 24 at
his residence, 36 Essex St.
He was
born in Houlton Oct. 8, 1920, son of John and Etta (Crab) Rush. Mr. Rush was the
proprietor of the Rush Boarding home. He is survived by his wife, S. Beatrice (Johnston)
Rush; a son Donald J.; both of Dover-Foxcroft; a brother, Paul
Rush of Toronto, Canada; two grandchildren. Funeral prayers were said Dec. 26 at the Lary
Funeral Home. Father Coleman O'Toole of the St. Thomas
Roman Catholic Church offficiated. Spring burial will be in
the Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton.

RUSH Jr. James Murray
HOULTON - James Murray Rush Jr. passed away in Houlton on Nov. 24,
1999, after a brief illness. He was born in Richmond Corner, New
Brunswick, on June 3, 1916, son of James Murray and Matilda (McLaughlin)
Rush.
His family moved to Hodgdon in 1928. After serving with the
U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II, he returned
to Houlton and in partnership with his brother ..., operated a
potato farm on the White Settlement Road. He was an active
member of St. Mary's Parish in Houlton. Predeceased by his
wife, Ruth Marie Cumming, he is survived by his brother...,
sisters, ....; sons, ....; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Dunn Funeral Home in Houlton from 7-9 p.m.
on Sunday, Nov. 28. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of
the Visitation Church in Houlton at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 29.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Contributions to the
American Heart Association or the American Lung Association in
memory of James Rush are welcomed.

RYAN, FREDA M.
Passed away on December 11, 2003 at the Carleton Manor in
Woodstock, NB at the age of 87. Freda May (Smullin) Ryan of
Woodstock. was born on September 14, 1916 to the late Burns and
Flecta (Dow) Smullin. She is survived by her son Richard (Susan),
grandchildren Genevive and Jillian Ryan all of Woodstock, NB;
daughter Myla Ruby Loose and grandchildren Kim and Gordon of
Ontario, and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by
her husband Gordon, sisters Ella and Thelma, brothers Charles and
Cecil and twin brother Fred. Resting at The Carleton Funeral Home
in Jacksonville, NB where friends may call on Saturday, December
13, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. O.E.S.tribute will be held
Saturday evening. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday December
14, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.Chris Vanbuskirk officiating.
Interment will be in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date.
