Royce C. Brown At the Grand Manan Hospital Thursday July 8th, 2004 Mr. Royce C. Brown of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island passed away, he was 87. Born in Cape Tormentine NB he was the son of the late Calvin and Elsie Brown. Royce served overseas during the Second World War with the Canadian Army where he received the 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, and War Medal 1939-45. He received an honorable discharge. After returning home he worked as a lobster fisherman, then he operated a Freight delivery service and later worked with the Department of Transportation on Grand Manan as Supervisor until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the Grand Harbour Baptist Church and was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #44. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie and two sisters Marguerite Bewley, and Bessie Stanley. He is survived by his loving and caring friend and partner Rowena Tucker, Royce will be sadly missed by his Comrades at the legion and his many, many friends. Visiting will take place from Ells Funeral Home Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, and the Funeral Service will be held from the Grand Harbour Baptist Church Monday July 12th, 2004 at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Walker officiating, internment to follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
