Mr. Percy Weldon Cook, formerly of Shediac Cape, NB, passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home Sunday, November 16th, 2003; he was 83. Born of the late James and Sophia (Ganong) Cook in Grand Manan, he was a veteran of the Second World War and later worked as a lobster fisherman and also in the smoked herring industry; he also worked for the J.W. Windsor Co. until his retirement in 1982. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Alice (Bass) Cook; one daughter Lorraine MacNeil of Cold Lake, AL; one daughter-in-law Dixie Cook of Calgary, AL; six sons George (Linda), Allison, NB, Rodney (Sylvia), Saint John, NB, Craig, Calgary, AL, John, Shediac Cape, NB, Dwight (Joanne), Grand Barachois, NB, and Russell (Kathy) of Porters Lake, NS; twelve grandchildren; and one great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son Douglas. Visiting hours will be held from Ells Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and the funeral service to be held from St. Paul's Anglican Church on Wednesday, November 19th, 2003 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Howard Anningson officiating, with the interment to follow in the family plot at Maple Grove Cemetery.
