At a Court of Probate held at Richibucto in the County of Kent and the Province of New Brunswick at the Office of the Judge of Probate, Kent County the 12th day of Feruary AD 1902. Henry H. James Esquire Judge of the Probate for Kent County present.
Read the Petition of Alice M. Law of the Parish of Richibucto, in the County of Kent, Province of New Brunswick, Spinster setting forth first that Isabella M. Law late of the Parish of Richibucto aforesaid, wife of Robert Law of the same place, Farmer, departed this life on the Twentienth day of November, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and ninety three, at the Parish of Richibucto aforesaid without having to the best of the knowledge and belief of your Petitioner, made any Will. That the said Isabella M. Law immediately before her death was an inhabitant of the said County of Kent, and that she died seized or otherwise entitled unto real Estate of the Value of three hundred, and that the said real Estate consiste of all and singular that certain lot of land and Premises situate in the Parish of Richibucto aforesaid bounded and described as follows, Commencing at a marked stake standing on the West side of the Post road on the North side of Richibucto river ........the north East boundary of lands formerly owned and occupied by John P. Ford thence along said Post road north 11 degrees east 5 chains of four rods each to a marked stake thence North 82 degrees and 20(30?) minutes West 16 chains to a stake standing on the East side of the backroad thence along the said backroad south 50 degrees west 9 chains to a marked stake at said John P. Ford's West boundary, thence along the said Ford line south 87 degrees East 22 chains and 50 links to the marked stake the place of beginning containing ten acres three roads and eight rches more or less save and except one half acre part thereof heretofore conveyed by one George Marsh to Walter Mitchell; that the saleable value of the said lot of land does not exceed the said three hundred dollars and there is no encumbrance thereon: and personal Estate of the Value of Two Hundred dollars; that the said Isabella M. Law left a husband, the said Robert Law, since deceased and one daughter namely, Your Petitioner her eldest child and three sons, namely Bonar Law, Johnson Law and Frederick Law all of the Parish of Richibucto aforesaid, infants; him surviving, which said daughter and sons all reside in the Parish of Richibucto aforesaid. And the said Petitioner Prays that Letters of Administration may be granted to her in due form of law, said Petition being dated the eighth day of February AD, 1902. The said Petition being signed and sworn to by the said Petitioner Alice M. Law Whereupon the following order Was made Probate Court, County of Kent.
In the matter of the Estate of Isabella M. Law late of the Parish of Richibucto in the County of Kent deceased. The twelfth day of February AD. 1902. Upon reading the within Petition of Alice M. Law and the renounciation of Bonar Law, Johnson Law and Frederick Law to Administration in said Estate, I do order that Letters of Administration of the Estate of the said Isabella M. Law be granted and issued to the said Alice M. Law as prayed for in and by her said Petition, She having entered into and filed a good and sufficient Bond for such purposes and having taken the Oath of Administration as by law required.
Henry H. James Judge of Probate in and for the County of Kent Bond of Administration for Alice M. Law, Hugh M. Ferguson and Wm D. Carter in the sum of one thousand dollars filed February 13th A.D. 1902 and dated and sealed the 8th day of February A.D. 1902 and approved by the said Judge of the said Court. Whereupon the said letters of Administration were granted and issued to the said Alice M. Law as above ordered as follows:- Probate Court, County of Kent, Province of New Brunswick By His Honor, His Excellency the Honorable Jabez Bunting Snowball Lieutenant Governor of the Province of New Brunswick etc. etc. To Alice M. Law of the Parish of Richibucto, in the County of Kent xxx.-
Whereas Isabella M. Law of the Parish of Richibucto aforesaid lately died intestate, as it is said, having whilst she lived and at the time of her dea th goods, chattels and credits within this Province, by means whereof the granting Administration of all and singular the said goods, chattels and credits and also the auditing, allxxg and finally discharging the account thereof unto me only doth belong, in order, therefore, that the said goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased may be well and faithfully administered, applied and disposed of according to law, I do by these Presents grant unto xxx the said Alice M. Law (in whose fidelity I do con fi de) full power and authority to administer and faithfully dispose of all and singular the said goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased and to ask, demand and recover and receive whatever goods, chattels, debts or credits to the said deceased while living and at the time of her death did in any way belong, and to pay whatever debts the said deceased at the time of her death did owe or was chargeable with, so for as such goods, chattels and credits will thereunto extend and the law charge you with, you having been already sworn well and faithfully to execute the duties of the trust in you hereby reposed as by law required. And I do by these Presents make ordain and depute you Administrator of all and singular the goods, chattels, rights and credits of the deceased.
In testimony whereof I have caused the Seal of the said Probate Court to be hereunto affixed, the Fourtennth day of February in the Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign the King by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith and in the year of Our Lord nineteen hundred and two R.H.
