Agnew
The death of Leonard " Corkey" George Agnew of Fredericton,
NB, occurred at his residence on Thursday, June 20th, 2002. Born in Harcourt,
Kent Co., NB, the son of the late George and Eva (Scopie) Agnew and
husband of the late Ada (Humphreys) Agnew "Mickie". Leonard enlisted in
the Canadian Armed Forces and served overseas in WW II belonging to the
Carleton York and Lorne Scots Regiments. Later, he became employed with
NBEPC and remained there for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member
of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 and of the 25 year club of NBEPC.
Corkey enjoyed cooking and he loved to hunt, fish, play cribbage and darts
and boxing actually winning the golden gloves as an amateur boxer. Survived
by two sons, David (Cathy) of Bridgewater, NS and Michael (Ginny) of Kingsley,
NB; one daughter, Stephanie Duncan (Bob) of Lourdes, NF; eight grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, William of River Herbert,
NS, John Henry (Helen) of Quispamsis, NB, Ralph ( Barbara) of Sussex, NB
and Douglas (Beverley) of Graham, Washington; two sisters, Isabel Mills
(Lee) of Waasis, NB and Barbara Jones (Green)of Saint John, NB; several
nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. Predeceased by wife,
Ada; his parents; three grandchildren, Christopher, Allan, Leigh-Ann; one
daughter, Louise "Tina" Stuckless and one brother, Frank Agnew. A
memorial service will take place at the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on
Sunday, June 23, 2002 at 2:30 pm with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch
#4 holding a tribute service at this time as well. Rev. Barry Craig will
officiate with Canon T. A. Smith assisting.

James Edward Agnew (Boo), 71, of Harcourt, NB passed
away on Saturday, February 22, 2003 at The Moncton Hospital after a lengthy
illness. Born in Bryant's Corner, NB he was the son of the late Annabelle
Agnew. He attended St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Harcourt. He was
a member of the Harcourt Legion Branch #75 and the Harcourt Seniors Club.
He is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Moore (Merle), Minto, Margaret
Brown (Ronald), Chipman, Mary Yates (John), Minto; one brother, Harrison
(Arrenne), Moncton; special cousin, Annabelle Bartin(William), Minto; special
uncle, Daniel Agnew, Harcourt; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Thompson's
Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Monday 2-4, 7-9. Funeral service
will be held at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Harcourt on Tuesday, February
25, 2003 at 11:00 am with Rev. John Pearce officiating. Interment in Parish
Cemetery in the Spring.
Agnew
Iva M. Agnew, of Harcourt, NB, the widow of Wilfred Tupper Agnew,.passed
away peacefully following a brief illness at her residence on Tuesday,
March 30, 2004 at the age of 72 years. Born in Tabusintac, NB on November
19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Dorinda(Harding)
Harding.
Iva was a member of the teaching profession and retired from Harcourt School.
She was a member of St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Harcourt and the Monday
Night Bible Study. She was very active in her community and church, she
received the Queens Jubilee Medal in 2003. She was a member of the Ladies
Auxillary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #75. Iva enjoyed her family,
friends and her Thursday night card group. She is survived by one daughter,
Wanda (Derek) Price of Rexton; four sons, Paul (Sandra) Agnew of Riverview,
Glenn (Debbie) Agnew of Harcourt, Ross (Connie) Agnew of Clairville, Joe
(Heather) Agnew of Milford, NS; grandchildren, Chris (Michelle) Agnew of
Riverview, Tracy (Tim) Barter of Riverview, Trina (Doug) Perkins of Havelock,
Jessie Agnew, Chelsey Agnew, Drew Agnew, Cleve Agnew, Tanner Agnew, Calder
Agnew, all of Clairville and Dylon Agnew of Milford, NS and great grandchildren,
Zachary, Ethan, Quinlyn and Sophie; sisters, Roberta (Blair) Murray of
Fredericton, Verna (Jim) Fleiger of Miramichi, Ernestine (Eugene) Clementi
of Ontario, Eva (Eric) Juhola of Ontario, Vera (Budd) Taylor of Miramichi,
Darlene (Lee) Murray of Tabusintac, Lenore (Don) Harris of Burnt Church

Rock; and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by her husband of 46 years, Wilfred Tupper Agnew in 2000, a brother, Budd
Harding in 1973 and a sister, Winnifred McAllister in 2004. The Funeral
Service will be held Saturday, April 3, 2004 with The Rev. John Pearce
officiating. The Ladies Auxillary of Branch #75 will be holding a service
Friday evening, April 2, 2004 Interment will be Presbyterian Cemetery,
Harcourt, NB in the spring.

Laura Albert, 102, of Manoir Saint-Jean Baptiste Bouctouche
and formerly of SainteMarie de Kent, passed away on Thursday, November
14, 2002 at her residence after a brief illness. Born on August 23, 1900,
she was the daughter of the late Olivier Bastarache and Marguerite Martin.
. She is survived by two daughters, Marie Collette of Sainte-Marie de Kent,
Clara Goguen (Yvon) of Grand Digue; two sons, André, Eric (Louise)
both of Sainte-Marie de Kent; 20 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Francois
Albert (1963); three sons, Eddie, Freddie, and Fabien; one grandson, Victor
(1988); five sisters, Geneviève, Emilile, Zélie, Annie, Marie-Rose

Eddie Allain, 82, husband of the late Irène (Allain)
Allain (1982) died suddenly in Bouctouche Cove, NB, on Wednesday, November
13, 2002. Born in Bouctouch, NB, on March 2, 1920, he was the son of
the late Jacques (Jim) Allain, and the late Régina Poirier.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #43 of Bouctouche
and served in WW II. Eddie is survived by one daughter, Raymonde Maillet
(Everard) of Bouctouche; two sons, Roland (Theresa) of Rexton, Rhéal
of Ottawa, ON; two sisters, Mai Savoie (Aldéo) of Newton, Mass,

1908, she was the daughter of the late Cyrille Cormier and Préscille
Duplessis. She was a housewife and attended the Saint-Jean Baptiste
Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche. She is survived by three daughters,

Dixon Point, Géraldine Brown (John) of Bridgeport, Conn; four sons,

ALLEN
Leone M. - 97, Wallace, Cumerland Co., passed away peacefully
Friday, September 12, 2003, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre,
Amherst. Born in Cap Lumiére, Richibucto Co., N.B., she was a daughter
of the late J. Thaddee and M. Domithile (Boucher) LeBlanc. She was
the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a fine lady
who was very proud of her Acadian Heritage. For many years she worked as
secretary for her husband's lobster fishing and packing industry in East
Wallace. She was a member of the Pugwash Memorial Baptist Church. Following
retirement she and her late husband spent many winters in Florida where
they made many friends and pursued their hobbies. "Nonis" or "Aunt Leone"
as she was fondly known, will be sadly missed by her family and extended
family for her caring ways and good sense of humour. Surviving are her
daughter, Nola F. Reedy, Wallace; son, Ronald G. (Sylvia) Allen, Halifax;
grandchildren, Carolyn (Larry) Deneault, Jack (Jacqueline) Reedy, David
(Pam) Reedy, Michelle Allen and Heather (Michael) Johnson; several great-grandchildren;
a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George
R. Allen (1985); sister, Anida Cadére; brothers, Edouard, Donat
and Emile LeBlanc. Visitation will be held today 7-9 p.m. and Monday, 2-4,
7-9 p.m. in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford. Funeral service
2 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, in Pugwash Memorial Baptist Church, Pugwash,

Flora Alfreda Amos, of McNairn Settlement, passed away
at The Rexton Lions Nursing Home on Sunday, August 4, 2002 at the age of
90
years. Born in Bouctouche, NB on December 25, 1911 she was the daughter
of the late Robert and Ellen (Price) Amos. She is survived by her sister,
Mrs. Irene Forbes of Moncton Numerous nieces, nephews, great and great
great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her
sisters, Edith, Roberta, Evelyn, and Ruth, and by her brother Ralph.

Albert Arsenault, 90, of Villa Providence, Shediac, and formerly
of Saint-Paul de Kent,, husband of the late Hélène Maillet
(1988) and Albertine LeBlanc (1999) passed away after a lengthy illness
at the Villa Providence, Monday, February 03, 2003. Born in Saint-Paul
de Kent, on January 25, 1913. He was the son of the late Fabien Arsenault
and Demerise Robichaud. Albert will be sadly missed by three daughters,

1918, she was the daughter of the late Pierre LeBlanc and Lizie Allain.
She is survived by one daughter, Murielle Nowlan (Yvon) of Bouctouche;
two half-sisters, Dianna (Henri) of Sainte-Anne de Kent, Dora of GrandeDigue;
three half-brothers, Gérard (Norma), Joe (Aurelie), Laurie (Maria)

Augustine, and Cynthia Augustine; three brothers, Hank, Howard, and Ralph;

Boucher. She worked as a Nurses Aid in Montreal for several years.

She was Mgr. Désiré Allain's housekeeper in Bouctouche for

Edward (Eddie) D. Beers 67, of Moncton passed away in Buffalo,
NY on Monday July 28, 2003. Born in Harcourt, son of the late Raymond
and Ruby (Petley) Beers. Eddie was formerly employed with the CNR as
a Signal Mechanic, Maritime Elevator and for 25 years as a Project Officer
for Public Works Canada, retiring in 1994. Eddie was an avid harness racing
owner and trainer for 25 years, campaigning on racing ovals throughout
Atlantic Canada up until the late 80's. In later years this interest continued
as he followed racing performances through racing friends, periodicals
and frequent visits to PEI where Old Home Week was a highlight of summer
activities. Eddie had a great love for the outdoors. This coincided with
his passion for motorhoming over the past 20 years. He and wife Carolyn,
were founding members of the Atlantic Provinces Perfect Circle Chapter
of Family Motor Coach Association. He will be greatly missed by his many
motorhoming friends in Canada and USA. He always enjoyed winter visits
to Florida, touring Atlantic Canada during the summer months and attended
motorhome rallies. Eddie was a member of the Canadian Superannuates Association,
Canadian Snowbird Association, was formerly a Ham radio operator (VEIKT).
He belonged to the Canadian Trotting Association and FMCA Chapters Prefect
Circle, Scotian Roamers, 100+, Spartan Chassis, Newmar International and
Maine Wheels. In his spare time Eddie enjoyed woodworking and he developed
his interest into a hobby business making Wooden Pens 'N Things and participating
in many craft sales. Sadly missed by his loving wife and soulmate of 42

of George and Emily (Livingston) Brace. John was a veteran of the Second
World War serving overseas with the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a 40
year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch #6 and he retired
from Swifts Canada Ltd after 30 years of dedicated service. He is survived
by his wife of 61 years, Ethel (McPhee); one son, Arthur (Joan); one daughter,
Beverlie Frappier (Gerald); his brother, Herbert; four grandchildren, Karen
Dauphinee, Kent Brace, Suzanne Richard and Angela Trueman; two great grandchildren,
Ashley and Michael as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to
his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Sherman and Harry, his
sisters, Anna Steeves and Hazel Warren. Funeral service will be on
Sunday, November 23 at 2 pm in Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel Interment
will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. The Royal Canadian Legion will conduct
a Legion Memorial Service on Saturday evening at 7:45 pm in the funeral
home.

Odila Brine (Melanson), 66, wife of Camille Brine, of
Rte. 132 Scoudouc, NB, passed away in the presence of her family, surrounded
by her husband and her children in the early hours of Saturday July 12,
2003 at the Villa Providence Shediac after a lengthily illness. Born in
St-Paul-de-Kent on September 4, 1936 she was the daughter of the late
Onézime Melanson and Elise Gaudet. She was a Teacher by profession,
she attended St-Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac where she was involved
with the Dame D'Acadie and Vestiére St-Joseph Shediac. She is survived
by her husband Camille; two daughters, Paulette Brine (Sam) of Toronto
and Lise (Alain Bissonnette) of Bouctouche; three sons, George (Francine)
of Moncton, Gilles (Ginette) of Shediac River and Pierre (Kathy) of Calgary,
AB; seven sisters, Antoinette (Léonce Boudreau), Nélida (Gerard
LeBlanc), Rose-Marie Bourque (Ron Désprés) all of Moncton,
Bernadette (Alyre Robichaud) of Dieppe, Albertine (Aldéo Collette)
and Alma (Roger Boucher) both of St-Marie-de-Kent, Majella (Richard Collette)
of Irishtown and one sister-in-law, Giséle (late Louis Melanson)

Gary William Cail, age 55, passed away at The Moncton Hospital
on Monday, March 10, 2003 after a lengthy illness. Born in Sussex, NB,
he was the son of the late Herbert Cail and Ruby (Young) Cail. He
worked as a woodsman and truck driver and attended St. Paul's Anglican
Church, Brown's Yard, NB. He was an Honorary member of the Harcourt Legion.
He is survived by his wife Frances Laboie; one daughter, Tanya LeBlanc

Sister Imelda Caissie, 86, a Sister of Providence for 67 years,
died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002 in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington,
Vt. Born in Ste. Anne de Kent, NB, she was the daughter of the late
Clément and Sara (Richard) Caissie. Sister Imelda is survived
by five sisters, Délia Maillet and Irene Bourque of Dieppe, Claire
Gautreau and Marie Allain of Moncton, Theresa Doucette of Rexton; a brother
André (Léa) of Shediac, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides
her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, James, Pierre, Alphonse

Alfreda Campbell, 87, wife of the late Emerson Campbell, of
Rexton, NB passed away at the Lions Nursing Home, Rexton on Thursday, April
15, 2004. Born in Bass River, NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas
Campbell and the late Sophie (Robichaud) Campbell. Alfreda and Emerson
were owners of Campbell's General Store, Rexton, for 29 years. . Alfreda
is survived by one son, Harvey (Stella) of Rexton; three grandchildren,
Greg, Grant, Angela; several nieces and nephews. The last surviving member
of her immediate family, Alfreda was predeceased by her husband, Emerson;
three sisters, Rita Campbell, Elva Lewis, Delta Dickinson; five brothers,
Dorrence (Lucy), Elmer, Belvin (Audrey), Harvey and Eldon.

after a brief illness. Born in Bouctouche, NB, on November 18, 1909. She
was the daughter of the late Aimé Maillet and Suzanne LeBlanc.Predeceased

Margaret Cameron-The death of Margaret, relict of James Cameron
took place at Chatham on Sept. 20th. Deceased was in the eighty eighth
year of her age and had resided during the greater part of her long life
in Kent County., her late husband having been for many years engaged in
lumbering. Cameron's Mills on the Kouchibouguac River, derived its
name from the location there of a mill owned by James Cameron.
Four sons and three daughters mourn the loss of a loving mother.
The sons are a James of Stillwater, Minnesota, Stephen of Winnipeg, William
of Mortimore and John A of Rexton. The daughters are Mary, wife of
Robert Godfrey, Eliza wife of Howard Flieger and Jane wife of W.L.T. Weldon
all of Chatham.
The remains were brought to Rexton on Monday, Sept 21 and interred
in the Presbyterian Cemetery on Tuesday Rev. A.D. Archibald conducting
the services.

The death of J. Howard Carroll, age 78, husband of Alice (Blanchard),
occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 28, 2002. Born
in Bouctouche, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Katherine (Carter)
Carroll. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Alice Blanchard,
Sackville; 3 daughters, Barbara (Don) Carson, Amherst, NS, Joan (Gary)
Lund, Hampton, NB, Mona (Sylvio) Bourque, Grande-Digue; 2 sons, David (Tracy),
Victoria, BC and Tom of Moncton. He will as well be sadly missed by grandchildren,

The death of M. Alice Carroll, age 79, widow of Howard Carroll
occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, July 14, 2002. Born
in Bloomfield, PEI, she was a daughter of the late Felix and Priscilla
(Doiron) Blanchard. Alice was a registered nurse, having worked in
Bouctouche (where she met the love of her life, Howard), Moncton and Sackville.
She was a member of St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, an
avid reader who enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. During
the last six years she worked tirelessly and lovingly caring for her husband
of 52 years, who passed away on June 28, 2002. She will be sadly missed
by three daughters, Barbara (Don) Carson, Amherst, NS, Joan (Gary) Lund,
Ham pton, NB, Mona (Sylvio), GrandeDigue; two sons, David (Tracy), Victoria,
BC, and Tom of Moncton, She will also be sadly missed by grandchildren,
Patrick, Tracy, Amanda, Tony, Zachary, Chris, Jillian, Daniel and Stephen.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family being predeceased

Mr and Mrs William Clare have been recently called upon to mourn the
loss of their eldest son George Clare who died of Consumption on Sept 20,
aged 26 years 9 months.
Being uncommonly thoughtful and industrious his death leaves a blank

to his brother in the U.S.

She worked as a Registered Nurse and was a member of NANB. She attended
St. Andrew's United Church, Rexton. She was a volunteer for the Meals on

Walter Hensley Dunn, 92 years, husband of Dorothy (McNairn)
Dunn, of Beersville, NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital, Moncton, on
Saturday, March 1, 2003. Born in Beersville he was the son of the late
Isaac Dunn and Merilla (Beers) Dunn. He was retired and had worked
as a Highway Supervisor and School Bus Driver. He is survived by his wife,
Dorothy; four daughters, Shirley Campbell (Russell), Moncton, Barbara Campbell
(Frank), Moncton, Audrey Singleton, Moncton, Elaine McDonald, Beersvile;
one son, Charles, Peabody, Mass. ; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

The death of Cecil William Fearon, husband of Joyce, of Hillsborough
Road Riverview occurred at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, November 8,
2003. Born June 21, 1932 in Beersville, NB, he was the son of Bertrum
and Margaret (Burgess) Fearon. Cecil had been employed with Hub Meat
Packers for over 30 years prior to retirement. In addition to his wife,
Joyce (Armstrong), he is survived by his sons Dan (Rhonda), and Kevin (Louise),
all of Riverview; four grandchildren Chris, Alicia, Kenny and Marley as
well as two sisters, Dorothy Morton of Moncton and Rita Betts (Edward)
of Harcourt and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents,
several brothers and sisters.

Raymond Goguen, 46, of Saint- André-LeBlanc passed away

Lyla E. Hicks 80, of McKees Mills passed away at the Moncton
Hospital on Wednesday April 28, 2004. Born in Bay du Vin, daughter of
the Late Allen and Prena (Johnston) Williston. After graduation in
Chatham, Lyla began her teaching profession in a one room school house
in McKees Mills where she met her husband of 45 years. Lyla was a member
of the Anglican Church of Canada, attended Zion United Church, McKees Mills
and the McKees Mills United Baptist Church. Lyla was president of the United
Church Ladies Aid Society, Dominion Life member of U.B.W.M.S., member of
Mckees Mills Womens Auxillary, a homemaker, farm wife and former leader
in the local 4-H club. She was an avid reader, loved to do crosswords,
cook, sew, travel and was very active in her community. Lyla was looking
forward to becoming a first time great grandmother. Lyla will be sadly
missed by her daughters, Karen Anne Mitton (Robyn), Gael Sawyer (Gerald),
with whom she resided, McKees Mills; son, Larry (Sally), McKees Mills;
grandchildren, Christian Hicks (Melanie), FL; Alan Hicks (Laura Lynn),

She was born on May 26, 1914 in South Branch, NB. She was the daughter

Moncton Hospital, Thursday, July 25, 2002. Born June 3, 1930, in Kent Junction,
he was the son of the late Mearl Hunter and Beatrice (Warman) Hunter.
He attended Harcourt United Church. He is survived by sisters, Gladys Ward
(Vincent), Harcourt, Alma Beers (late John), Emmerson; brothers, Arland
(Doris), Plaster Rock, Ralph (Evelyn), East Millenocket, ME; special brother,
Bruce, Kent Junction; sister-inlaw, Kay, with whom Robert resided; several
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Jean Lawson and two

Ethelyn S. Irvine 86, widow of the late Donald Irvine (September
26, 1997) of Moncton passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday August
6, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in McKees Mills, daughter
of the Late Stephen and Della (Trites) Dunlap. Ethelyn was a devoted
housewife, mother and fabulous cook. In past years she was an avid gardener
providing well for her family each year from the garden harvest. She enjoyed
traveling, was gifted at knitting, sewing and quilting. She served her
church in A.C.W. groups, both at St. Martin's in the Wood, Shediac Cape
and St. George's Anglican Church, Moncton. She firmly believed in a lot
of the old fashioned methods and practices to solve daily problems of life
even in these modern times and was a shining example of this philosophy.
Ethelyn will be sadly missed by her daughter, Marilyn Gain (Alvin), Moncton;
granddaughter, Cheryl Gadoury (Dean); great grandson, Spencer; great granddaughter,

12, 2003 after a lengthy illness. Born in Bouctouche, NB on April 7, 1930,
he was the son of the late Edouard LeBlanc and the late Elizabeth Ouellette.
He was a Telecommunication Technician with the Canadian Army for 25 years.
He attended Saint-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche and he
was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 43 Bouctouche . He is
survived by his wife, Thérèse; one daughter, Linda LeBlanc
