Josiah Gilbert Seely
Know all Men by these presents that I Alexander Forbes
Mylne
of the parish of Saint George in the County of Charlotte and the Province
of New Brunswick Labourer for and in consideration of the sum of eighty
seven pounds ten shillings lawful money of the province of New Brunswick
to me paid by Josiah Gilbert
Seely of the parish of Saint George
and county and province aforesaid Merchant the receipt whereof I do hereby
acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant
bargain and sell unto the said Josiah Gilbert Seelye his heirs and assigns:
Two hundred acres of Land situate lying and being on the eastern side of
the River Magaguadavick in the parish of Saint George and County of Charlotte
and province aforesaid, being the northerly part or parcel of Lot Number
Two on the Magaguadavick River aforesaid, Granted to me by Letter Patent
under the great seal of New Brunswick on the fourth day of February one
thousand eight hundred and twelve commencing at a white ash tree on the
Land reserved for a
block House thence running north sixty degrees
east to the rear of the said Lot and from the said tree on the Northern
boundary of the said Lot down the said River eighty Rods thence north sixty
degrees east four hundred and sixty Rods until it strikes the rear boundary
of the said Lot, thence North thirty degrees west until it intersects the
above line, making two hundred acres as aforesaid. To have and to
hold the said Land and premises with the appurtenances to the said Josiah
Gilbert
Seely his heirs and assigns and to their only use and behoof
forever. And I do for myself my heirs executors and administrators
covenant with the said Josiah Gilbert
Seely his heirs and assigns
that I am seized of the premises as a good indefeasible estate of inheritance
in fee simple free of and from all manner of encumbrances whatsoever (Rents
Dues Conditions Reservations and Services due and reserved to the King
only excepted) and that I have a good right full power and lawful authority
to grant bargain and sell the same in manner and form as above written.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first
day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty
two and in the second year of the Reign of His Majesty King George the
Fourth and further in token of the free consent of Mary
Mylne my
wife and her relinquishment of right of dower have hereunto set her hand
and seal.

Charlotte: Be it Remembered that on the twenty first day of March
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two before
me Moses
Vernon Esquire one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the County of Charlotte personally came and appeared Alexander Forbes
Mylne and Mary his wife the Grantors in the foregoing Instrument
named, who did acknowledge that they executed the same by the sealing and
delivery thereof as their voluntary act and deed and for the uses and purposes
therein mentioned. And the same Mary being by me examined separate
and apart from her said husband did declare that she executed the same
freely and voluntarily and without any threats fear or compulsion from
