Edward Judson Leavitt

Peacefully, at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB on August 12, Mr. Edward
Judson Leavitt, 89, husband of Hilda Leta (Harris) Leavitt of Back Bay, NB. Born
in Back Bay, NB on August 4, 1915, he was a son of the late Edward Leavitt and
Tena Etta Kent.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Edward is survived, besides
his wife, by two sons, Gaston (Glenna) Leavitt of Back Bay and Laren (Peggy)
Leavitt of St. Stephen; two daughters, Eunice (Alden) Lord of Back Bay and
Marcia (Arthur) Heaysman of Saint John; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren;
one brother, Marshall (Helen) of Sussex; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his mother, Edward was pre-deceased by one grandson, Stephen Tinker.
Edward had been a fisherman by trade, working for himself, and also for Connors
Bros. Ltd. He especially loved horses.
Resting at Seaview Full Gospel Church, Back Bay, NB with visiting on Friday and
Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the church at 2 pm
Sunday, with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating, followed by interment in the Back
Bay Community Cemetery. In Edward’s memory, donations to a charity of the
donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to
the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB.
