
Hazen Boyd
BOYD-with great sadness, the family of Hazen Boyd announces his passing on May 9, 2007 at the Charlotte County Hospital. He passed away with his loving family at his side after a brief illness.
Hazen was born in St. George, NB in 1923. He was the son of the late William Hugh and Ada Belle Winnifred Boyd. His life-long career of 29 years service was at the Dept of Fisheries and Oceans where he worked as a bacteriologist. Graduate of N.S.A.C. and McGill University. He was a member of the All Saints Anglican Church, St. Andrews for 46 years having served as a vestry and choir member.
Hazen was also an active member of the Kiwanis Club serving 44 years of perfect attendance. He enjoyed his retirement years spending time gardening, wood working, playing the piano, reading, singing and being with his family. Several beautiful pieces of furniture were made for his children.
Hazen is survived by his wife, Pauline (Reynolds) formerly of St. Stephen, daughters, Lynda (Kalvin) Bradford of Texas, Patricia (Karl) Deering, St. Andrews, Joan (Jeffrey) Ross of Naniamo, BC, Heather (Geoffrey) Millen, Fall River, NS, and sons, Scott (Carla) Boyd, St. George, Bruce (Jillian) Boyd, Fredericton, sister, Alice Boyd, St. George, along with 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Jeanne, sisters, Bernice and Doris and brother, Clifton.
Hazen will be resting at All Saints Anglican Church, King Street, St. Andrews with visiting hours on Friday May 11, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
Funeral Service will be held from All Saints Anglican Church on Saturday May 12, 2007 at 3 PM with Canon John Matheson officiating.
Interment at St. Andrews Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the All Saints Anglican Church, Charlotte County Cancer or charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
