ALTON - Otis Taylor Barry, 81, died Monday, Dec. 17,
2007, at an Orono heath care facility. He was born May 28, 1926, in
St. George, New
Brunswick, son of Stephen Otis and Georgia (Hatt)
Barry. Otis was educated in New Brunswick schools.
After moving to Maine as a young man, he worked for many years at H.E.
Sargent Co. For a few years after his retirement, he cut firewood. Otis
was predeceased by his first wife, Lois M. Barry; and a sister,
Gertrude. He is survived by his wife, Prudence Corey-Barry of Alton; one
daughter, Patricia Armitage of Old Town; one granddaughter, Brandie
Armitage; two great-granddaughters, Kyra Armitage and Star Wickett, all
of Old Town; one sister, Frances Anthony of Pennsfield,
New Brunswick; one brother, Vance Barry of Mapleridge, British Columbia;
as well as many nieces. Visiting hours will be held 2-5 p.m. Thursday,
Dec. 20, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A spring
graveside service will be held at Alton Cemetery, Alton. In lieu of
flowers, the family asks that donations in Otis' memory be made to a
charity of one's choice.
