The following acts of incorporation relating to granite companies were passed by the General Assembly of New Brunswick in the 1870s. There were no other such acts from 1867 to 1890. Each of the companies was authorized to operate in Charlotte County, although some of them were permitted to have their head offices in Saint John or even outside of New Brunswick.List of Companies

3. Alfred L. StarrattIn addition to the above acts of incorporation, the New Brunswick Assembly passed a strange act on April 6, 1888 (51 Vict., c. 64) entitled An Act relating to the Bay of Fundy Red Granite Company. It deals with a "Bay of Fundy Red Granite Company, a Company incorporated as aforesaid under the Laws of the State of New York, . . . in or before the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy two" and authorizes it to purchase land in New Brunswick. However, it is not clear if this is the same Bay of Fundy Red Granite Company that had been incorporated by New Brunswick in 1873. The act also referred to a lawsuit "now pending in the Supreme Court of this Province, wherein Elmir A. Young is Plaintiff, and Alexander Milne, William Coutts, James Watt, Charles Johnston, Jr., John D. Chipman, and Julius T. Whitlock are Defendants."
