MAILING LISTS INFORMATION

You will want to subscribe to a mailing list, where you can learn about genealogical research being done in New Brunswick  through cyberspace by a lot of people all over the world.  Everyone is VERY friendly here in New Brunswick and are all willing to help, so don't be afraid to ask questions.  If you feel the need to "lurk" (reading but not writing to the list), that's perfectly OK.

Acadian, Loyalist, Irish, English & Scottish people all settled Charlotte County and New Brunswick.  Prior to the war of 1812 there were boundary disputes with Maine.  Another factor to consider is that New Brunswick was originally part of Nova Scotia.  Don't limit yourself, but don't get overwhelmed by signing up for all the lists either.

When you sign up to be part of a list, the owner will send you a confirmation letter, stating the NAME you signed up under and whether it was as a L-ist or D-igest Mode. SAVE THIS as it contains important instructions about unsubscribing and going on vacation.  It also contains instructions on how to "post" (send in a comment/query) to the list.
