Digdeguash / Elmsville / Johnson Settlement
Posted 9 Jul 2002

The following transcription was compiled and donated by the Charlotte Branch, New Brunswick Genealogical Society. Thanks also to Marilyn Strout who arranged for the donation. The comment in {curly brackets} was added by Craig Walsh. Comments in [square brackets] were already part of the transcription.

Rural communities have poorly defined boundaries. As a result, the area where the cemetery and church site is located has sometimes been considered part of Digdeguash, other times part of Elmsville, and still other times part of Johnson Settlement.

JOHNSTON SETTLEMENT

This rural cemetery is located on the right side of Route 760, 2.8 miles past covered bridge at Halls Corner going towards Route 1.  This cemetery is the site of a former Methodist church and has recently been restored.
