Oven Head
Last Updated 21 Apr 2001

Oven Head is a beautiful and famous point jutting into Passamaquoddy Bay at the eastern edge of the mouth of Digdeguash Harbour.

The records of St. Marks Anglican Church in St. George contain several interesting references to a place in Saint Patrick Parish called "Old Woman's Oven": (All links go to the St. George GenWeb site.)

"Old Woman's Oven" may well be an early form of "Oven Head". Several of the original grantees of the area shown on Crown Land Grant Map #161 are James Stewart, James Jr. Stewart, George Stewart, and John McIlroy.

Thank you to Charlene Beney who transcribed the St. George Anglican records.
