St. Stephen is an original parish (created 1785) and is located in the south western corner of Charlotte County [see #7 on the map below]. It is bordered on the north by St. James, the east by St. David, the south east by Dufferin, the south by the St. Croix River and the west by the state of Maine. For a period of time (1813-1873) it included lands that are now in other areas. Both Dufferin Parish (created 1873) and St. James Parish (created 1823) were formed from lands that were a part of St. Stephen, so please be sure to check out these other two parishes for any information needed after these dates.
