Obit in the Paper: George Clayton Hinds 47, a resident of Eliot for the past eight years, died Monday in an Augusta, ME hospital. He was born in Winthrop, ME Aug 19, 1900, the son of Mrs. Ina (Morse) Lathrop of Rockport, ME, and the late George E. Hinds. Survivors besides his mother include his wife, Mrs. Edna (Wormell) Hinds; two sons, Ronald and George Clayton, Jr., and two daughters, the Misses Betty and Helen Hinds, all of Eliot; two brothers, Elwood S. Hinds of Winthrop and Harold F. Hinds of Falmouth, ME and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Mills of California and Mrs. Madeline Stephens of Clinton, ME.

Deserted the service (Army?) in the U.S. and went to St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada about 1927/1928, where he married Pauline under an assumed name, James Edward Ralston (wonder if Ralston was a family name, maybe his mother's maiden name, or a friends name who had died). He had sisters in the Boston, MA area. He suffered from emphysema. He said that his military records were burned in the San Francisco fire. On his daughter's birth certificate, it says he was born in Los Angeles, CA, and was currently working as a laborer.
