McCONNELL
Hello - My name is William G. McCONNELL - My
Grandfather and Great Grandfather both named William McCONNELL together with my
Great Grandmother Mary Mc CONNELL (WILL) emigrated to Victoria County N.B. from
Stonehaven Scotland in 1873. They arrived at Saint John N.B. together with
approx 85 other families (530 persons in total) on May 10th 1873 aboard the SS
"CASTALIA". They proceeded up the St.JOHN river to KINBURNs' landing arriving on
Tuesday May 13th 1873. They were to establish a Scots colony in Muniac - known
as "NEW KINCARDINESHIRE". My Grandfather married Barbara SHERRIFS circa. 1883
and they farmed in the new settlement. Their family numbered 11, and to the very
best of my knowledge, they are all deceased.
I am interested in contacting anyone pursuing this family's
genealogy..Specifically anyone who has accumulated documentation and/or
publications relating to "NEW KINCARDINESHIRE" and the Mc CONNELL family. Thank
You

JENSEN
My grandmother, Inez McLaughlin, just died 24 Jun 98
in Braintree Massachusetts (suburb of Boston). She was 94 years old and born on
7 Jun 1904 in New Denmark, New Brunswick. The last few times I saw her in her
nursing home she gave me information I had never known before. Her father (my
great grandfather) was Constantine JENSEN. I was told he was a big potato farmer
in New Denmark. He had come over from Copenhagen, Denmark. His first wife died.
After that, he went to Chicago. There, he painted scenes on the sides of
carriages. He found out from somebody that a farm back in New Denmark had been
put up for sale, so he went back and bought it. He married again for the second
time. She also died. He never married again. I know nothing about my great
grandmother(s). I made a promise to myself that someday I will travel to New
Denmark. I was wondering whether any one in New Denmark might know of any
additional information?

LEVESQUE
I would very much like to find information on the
family of Thomas LEVESQUE (Francois and Rose McDunn) and Marie BEAULIEU (Godfroi/Augustin
and Christiane BEAULIEU).They were married in Old Town, ME, 2 Sept. 1868 and as
near as I can tell, had at least four children there, including my gr-grandfather
Cyril; the others were Francois, Marie, and Adele. I next found that two more
children were born in Balmoral, Roseanna in 1879 and Adili in 1880-1. In 1884-5
I find a Sara born in Colebrook and later a John Joseph born there 1887-8. Most
of this information I got from the Restigouche Co. Marriage Registers and most
of them were listed as residents of Colebrook or Tobique or Tobique Road. In
addition, in the marriage record for Adele (to Joseph Arsenault, 6 Sept. 1898,
St. Benoit, Balmoral) Thomas and Marie are listed as being of the Tobique
Mission. My great-uncle recalls his father Cyril speaking of Tobique, so it
seems that the family was somewhere in that general area as well as Colebrook .
Thomas was killed by a train in Campbellton in 1916. I would like to know
anything more about this family and hope that there might be other descendents
out there in Victoria Co. who could help fill in the myriad details that are out
of my reach just now. THANKS!

John ROSS married Mary KEARNEY at the Andover Anglican Church on 3 Sep. 1852,

Although there were a number of KEARNEYs in Victoria County, I've been unable to
determine who Mary may have been. She was born in 1818 in NB, and died Sep. 1884
in Woodstock. Who were her parents? She would have been over 30 when she
married, so was she married prior to 1852 to a Kearney? I've ruled out the Mary
Kearney in 1851 Brighton with daughter Madeleny, as she was in later census'.

I am originally from Nova Scotia and now of Ontario. Armstrongs from my line
went to Perth and Andover, ca. 1832 and for the most part, moved over to Maine
and then throughout the U.S. I have done a lot of work on all of the Armstrong
descendants and am quite willing to share any of that information with
interested parties.

BRADLEY
I am looking for an Oliver BRADLEY who lived near the Tobique around the 1800's.
Legend tells our family that he was murdered. His children were sent here to
York co. to live with Sara Freeman's family. Are there any records I can search
for the early 1800's. I have been to the archives but have very little. I did
find some land grants but I am looking for record of his children and his death.
Thanks. Rose Staples Mon, 15 Dec 1997
