William Capps

 

The said William Capps who resided during the American Revolution at Burke County, NC and Montgomery County, VA assisted in establishing American Independence, while acting in the capacity of Private, probably infantry & scout.

 

William Capps served three months tour, later part of 1780 under Captain Mosdica Clark, Joined General Daniel Morgan’s Army stationed at Grindell Shoals on Pacolate one or two days before Battle of Cowpens.

Was placed under Major Triptate of VA Militia, and fought in Battle of Cowpens, 17 Jan 1781.  Served three months at Col Waffort’s Fort under Capt James Neille as Scout. Served 1 month Spring 1781 under Capt Simpson.
