THERE WERE AT LEAST TWO JOHN NOES IN EARLY ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA

The connection between John Noe who died in 1846 and Peter Noe,
the immigrant came from the works of Rev. D. I. Offman (1864-1954).
Rev. Offman did extensive personal interviews. His records had a massive
amount of information of the families of German descent in Alamance Co.
However, he was not always a stickler for dates and details. From census
records the John who died in 1846, our ancestor, was born between 1760 and
1770. John, the son of Peter, sold land in 1763 and was naturalized in 1769.
He also signed a regulator list about 1768. It is possible that our John Noe
was a son of John Noe and Catherine Efland but, no record has been found of
  their children.
