Welcome One and All
Your hosts for this site are Ron Dailey and Kay Midgett Sheppard. We are deeply grateful to the previous co-host of this site, John McGowan, for his dedication and hard work. The new co-host hopes he can do anything near what John accomplished in his three years as the site co-host. We will continue to attempt to bring quality information to the Beaufort County NCGenWeb pages. The emphasis will still be on research and assistance to researchers. We will appreciate any and all assistance you can offer. If you have roots in Beaufort County or the surrounding area, please send us your Queries and Surnames. Please insert the words "Query" or "Surname" on the subject line. We will enter your information manually. If you wish to post a document to the site, by all means, please e-mail either of us, Ron Dailey or Kay Midgett Sheppard. If you have any obituaries, especially older ones, please e-mail them as well.

USGenWeb - NCGenWeb
In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index. At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page. The NC GenWeb Project is an extension of the KY GenWeb Project.

From How Green Was My Valley by Richard Llewellyn:
"I saw behind me those who had gone, and before me those who are to come, I looked back and saw my father, and his father, and all our fathers, and in front to see my son, and his son, and the sons upon sons beyond.
And their eyes were my eyes.
As I felt, so they had felt and were to feel, as then, so now, as tomorrow and forever. Then I was not afraid, for I was in a long line that had no beginning and no end, and the hand of his father grasped my father's hand, and his hand was in mine, and my unborn son took my right hand, and all, up and down the line that stretched from Time That Was to Time That Is, and Is Not Yet, raised their hands to show the link, and we found that we were one, born of Woman, Son of Man, made in the Image, fashioned in the Womb by the Will of God, the Eternal Father."
