The Josiah Hollomon Files
Josiah Hollomon (1784-1862) lived in Hertford County on the Bertie County line. When he passed away he left a good size envelope with varying receipts that cover a period of about 50 - 60 years. Jim Hollomon donated those original documents to the Hope Plantation Archives, and has generously contributed the following copies, notes and typewritten files to the Hertford and Bertie GenWeb projects for the benefit of fellow researchers. These records contain business transactions, wills, estate matters, maps, deeds, genealogies and various issues of interest to Mr. Josiah Hollomon during his lifetime concurrently offering a unique glimpse into the day to day life of many local families during that time period.
