Camden
Hugh Arnold served during the Civil War. He enlisted as a private and
is listed as a POW on 8-29-1861 at Fort Hatteras, NC. Transferred
Company Ind, Capt. W.A. Duke's Regiment North Carolina on 9-15-1861and
returned on 2-20-1862. He was discharged from Company I, 32nd Infantry
on 4-2-1862. His unit was also referred to as the 'Jonesboro Guards'. He
may have served with another unit after that time, but no further information
was found. A brick has been placed in his honor at the Confederate
Soldiers memorial in Camden, North Carolina.
