Hugh Arnold served during the Civil War. He enlisted as a private and is listed as a POW on 8-29-1861 at Fort Hatteras, NC.   Transferred Company Ind, Capt. W.A. Duke's Regiment North Carolina on 9-15-1861and returned on 2-20-1862.  He was discharged from Company I, 32nd Infantry on 4-2-1862.  His unit was also referred to as the 'Jonesboro Guards'. He may have served with another unit after that time, but no further information was found.  A brick has been placed in his honor at the Confederate Soldiers memorial in Camden, North Carolina.

Samuel Burfoot  served as a private in NC.  Transferred H Co. 32nd Inf. Reg. NC discharged 2 April 1862 ( source: NC Troops 1861-65 A roster. pub. 1993.
He was born Nov 1840 & died 2 April 1884 Married Chloe Godfrey 6 Jan 1866 in Camden Co., NC
