Betty Myrtle Needham

Betty was the daughter of Christopher Columbus Needham and Rachel Capitalia Williams. She was b. Sept. 9, 1902 and d. July 19, 1943. This picture was taken as Betty was performing in a play when she was about 15 years old.

My greatgrandfather Nicholas Nickolby Jordan  B: August 11, 1872; D: June 21, 1925.

               He was born in Pasqutank County, North Carolina, and died in Princess Anne County, Virginia.
Nicholas's father was Rev. William P. Jordan B: 11 August 1846; D: 27 November 1912. Rev. William P. Jordan was married to Jennie (Sarah Virginia) Stokely. 18 January 1870.

This is my grandmother and grandfather, Mary Virginia Jordan and Gurnie  Flavuis Rogerson.

 Married 06 April 1916. Mary was born 01 June 1900, in Woodville, NC . Gurnie was born 06 March 1897, in Hertford, NC.

Mary's father was Nickolas N. Jordan and her mother was Annie Felicia Elliott Jordan. Nickolas was born in Bertie Co. NC., 11 August 1872 and Annie was born in Perquimans Co. NC., on 02 April 1878,
Gurnie's father was Jessie W. Rogerson ll, born 1875 in Perquimans Co. NC. and died about 1924 in Princess Ann Co. Va. living on Salem Rd in Va. and his mother Laura Virginia Smith was born 09 Dec.1875 Perquimans Co. NC. and died Dec.25,1963, in Norfolk Va.and buried 27 Dec. 1963 at Cedarwood Cemetery, Hertford NC.

These are some pictures my father had, William Frazier Forbes. Two of them do not have any name on the backs. Maybe some one will know who they are.

 

 

 

This picture is of John Pugh and Rebecca Needham. John was b:15 Oct.1829, d:4 Nov. 1920, m:14 Feb. 1854 to Rebecca Needham. They were my  g-grandmother's parents. Adelia Pugh b:18 Aug. 1834, d:30 July 1919, m:Thomas L. Forbes on 30 Dec. 1835. He was  b:abt, 1851, d:abt. 1889.

Most sources list his birth as 1832, but his gravestone states 1828.

Thomas Gregory who was born in Camden County in 1840, the son of Spence and Chloe Gregory.

 He served as a Private in Co. A, 56th Regt. NC Troops(Inf), CSA.  He died in 1883 in Currituck County.

Josephine (Forbes) Gregory  (1845-1936)  was born in Camden County. She was the daughter of Tilmon Forbes and Mary (Dozier) Forbes and was the wife of Thomas Gregory (1840-1883).
