Will of Robert Tripp - 30 Oct 1800

Beaufort County, NC

In the Name of God Amen I Robert Tripp of Beaufort County and State of N Carolina Being weak of body But of Disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and Testament Revoking all other Wills by me made in manner following to wit:

Imprimis(?), I give to my loving Wife 2 Negro's (to wit) Denis and Jimmy one bed and furniture 20 Head Cattle one Mare Col'd Fly to her & her heirs.  I also lend her fourteen Negro's to wit Quamnerna Abram Sarah Betty Daniel June Dinah Rose Aron Peggy Margaret Peter Bobb and Florah During her widowhood I also lend my Wife the use of the Plantation whereon I now live During her widowhood & should she marry only one half the Remainder to her during life.

Item I give to my Sons Joseph, Willim, Robert and the one my Wife is now pregnant with the above named Negroes Quam Abram Sarah Betty Daniel Duno Dinah Rose Aron Peggy Margaret Peter Bobb and Florah to be Equally divided between them and if Either of them should Die before they come of age or marry to be Divided between the above named children.  I also give my Sons Joseph, William, Robert the Plantation whereon I now live also one hundred acres of land on Nevells Creek I also give my Son Joseph one young mare to them and their Heirs forever.

Item I give to my Son John three Negro's to (wit) Jocab Patience and Esther I also give one Hundred pound fifty of which I have paid George Hill and fifty pounds in cash toward Purchasing another part in the Lands he lives now lives on to him and His Heirs forever.

Item I give unto my Daughter Barbary Loveh(Leavett) four Negro's to wit Rhody Patt Kate and Sitty to her and her Heirs forever.

Item I give my Daughter Mary Reels children three Negro's to wit Amerella Sare Liddy to them and their Heirs forever.

Item the Residue of my Stock of Every description Hogs Cattle Sheep to be kept on the Plantation for the Support of my Young children and until they shall come to age or marry that is to say Joseph, William, Robert and the child my wife is now Pregnant with.

Item I give to my two sons William and Robert my two Horses Dare & Dott so called.

Item I give to my sons Joseph, William, Robert and the one my Wife is now Pregnant with what money I may have after my Just Debts are paid.

Item my Will and Desire is that the Household and Kitchen furniture that is not before given with the Plantation Tools to Remain with my wife During her life or widowhood and then to be Sold for the Benefit of my Young Children my Desire is that my Sailing Boat should be sold for the Benefit of my Young Children lastly I constitute and appoint my Wife Grace Tripp and my Son John Tripp Executors to this my Last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the year of our Lord 1800 October 30th In Preasance(sic) of

Robert Tripp died on December 30th 1800.
His 3rd marriage was to Grace Daw abt 1776 in Core Point.  Children of that marriage were:
Barbara, Mary, John, William, Joseph and Robert.  Susan was the child referred to that his wife was pregnant with when this Will was written.
