Town of Avon
On December 4, 1873 Damon
G. Meekins became the postmaster for the Kinnakeet Post Office. Then
on March 22, 1883 it was authorized and changed to Avon Post Office by
the U.S. Postal Service. Many villagers still refer to it as Kinnakeet
today.
