Because of renovations to the Main Branch of the Forsyth County Library, until further notice, regular meetings of the Forsyth County Genealogical Society will be held in the Auditorium of the Reynolda Manor Branch Library at 2839 Fairlawn Drive in Winston-Salem, NC. The meeting time will remain on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM. However, some special meetings may be held at other venues and/or times.  Please check the listings below. 
Times and dates are subject to change without notice. 

Each regular meeting of the Society includes a program of interest to genealogists and family historians.
Meetings are free and open to the public.

Note - If Forsyth County Schools were closed on the day of a meeting owing to weather,
the Society doesn't meet. There will not normally be a backup date.

May 5 The guest speaker will be Mr. Randell Jones. He will discuss the marking of Daniel Boone's Trail by the Daughters of the American Revolution. The DAR sought to commemorate Boone's legacy by erecting trail markers between 1912 and 1915. Mr. Jones is a writer and storyteller. He received the National History Award from the DAR in 2014 for his body of work over the last 10 years. He has served as a member of the Roads Scholars Speakers Bureau for the NC Humanities Council since 2007. His 2012 release, "Trailing Daniel Boone, received a Kentucky History Award from The Kentucky Historical Society. On Saturday, May 9, 2015 Historic Bethabara Park will host the Bethabara Highland Games. It is a celebration of the Scots-Irish contribution to colonial Bethabara, including athletics, music, food, and more. Many Scottish clans will host information booths. The Forsyth County Genealogical Society will also host a booth with information about local genealogy, books and CDs for sale, etc.
