Tuesday, August 6, 2013   -  The Regular Meeting of The Forsyth County Genealogical Society will be held on Tuesday, August 6 2013 at 6:30 PM in the auditorium of the Forsyth County Library's Central Branch at 660 West 5th St. in Winston-Salem.

Mr. Bill Bynum, Reference Archivist at the Library of Virginia, the State Library and Archives. He will speak on Genealogical Research at the Virginia State Archives.

Bill Bynum is a Reference Archivist at the Library of Virginia, the state library and archives in Richmond.  He has worked there for five years.  A South Carolina native with plenty of North Carolina and Virginia ancestry, Bill holds history degrees from Wofford College and the University of Virginia.  Prior to coming to Richmond, he was an archivist and manager at the Presbyterian Historical Society in Montreat, North Carolina.  He lives in Midlothian, Virginia, with his wife, Michele, an elementary school music teacher, and their son, Will, a rising senior at Radford University in Virginia.  Among Bill's hobbies, he is a member of a Civil War reenactment group representing the 26th North Carolina Regiment, in which his 2-g grandfather served (and managed to spend most of the war on medical leave!)

The meeting is FREE and open to the public.  See us on the web at  Facebook too!
