Greene County Family Researchers was organized in 2007 by individuals interested in preserving and sharing the unique history of Greene County, North Carolina and the history of the families who have lived here. While GCFR operates under the auspices of the Greene County Museum, a private non-profit organization, GCFR has a separate board of directors and its own bylaws.

GCFR Mission Statement
To locate, preserve and disseminate documents, information and artifacts related to Greene County genealogy and history.To promote interest in genealogical and historical research and to insure that research in these fields is done accurately and ethically . To provide training and assistance to anyone interested in such research.

Greene County Family Researchers Meeting Schedule

Meetings are open to the general public and membership in GCFR is not required to attend any meeting.
GCFR meets the third Thursday of each month at 7 P.M. at the Greene County Museum, 107 NW Third St. in downtown Snow Hill, North Carolina. The Museum is across the street from First Citizens Bank.

GCFR Membership
Membership in GCFR is open to anyone who shares an interest in genealogical and historical research. While the primary focus is on Dobbs, Glasgow and Greene County records, research is not limited to those counties.
Membership includes a subscription to GCFR's quarterly newsletter, Greene Genes.
