Haywood County, North Carolina, Deed Book B
Dot Barnam, abstracter.

Deed Book B is the second book of Haywood County deeds.  The original is at the Register of Deeds office in Waynesville.  In addition to the material contained in the abstract, there was usually a description of the land involving various trees, markers and lengths in poles.  Some deeds and land grants were registered first in Burke County when land currently in Haywood County was in Burke County, or later Buncombe County.  After Haywood County was formed, some land owners re-registered these documents.  It is always recommended that the researcher obtain a copy of the original deed to verify the data contained in these abstracts.
