This section, compiled from various official catalogs, shows that Moore County
elected legislators of property and achievement, planters, industrialists, merchants, doctors,
attorneys, aminister and a journalist. Members of the Lower House were called commoners
until, in 1869, the designation was changed to representatives. Blanks occurring in the senate
column indicate that senators elected in those years came from other counties in the senatorial district.
