1st Lieutenant, A Company, 2nd North Carolina Infantry, C.S.A.
Benjamin Franklin Bray was born in either Camden or Washington County, North Carolina on August 31, 1846.Benjamin served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 2nd North Carolina Infantry, Company A, Confederate States Army, and was later promoted to 1st Lieutenant. He married in Camden County on January 12, 1869 to Mary Elizabeth Jarvis. Benjamin served as Sheriff of Perquimans County from 1905 until 1921, and then was elected to the North Carolina State Legislature and served from 1921 to 1925. He died in Hertford, Perquimans County, on November 14, 1925 and is buried at Cedarwood Cemetery in Hertford.
